TheDude
Hello again!I've had my EGR disconnected forever now and I would like to remove it and block off the hole entirely.I have no real metal working tools, knowledge or even a place to make one.So my question is, can someone make me a block off plate? I'll gladly pay for it and your time if it's reasonable.

TheDude
That says it's for 232 or a 258. Are you sure it will fit a 242?
Jeep Driver
Looks just like the one I made for my 2.5. Who knows? I'm sure of nothing. Image Not Found

Have you had any issues (poor performance) with the EGR disconnected?
Crash
My EGR never worked when I got my heep. Was due to the failed vacuum solenoid. When I had to Smog it I borrowed a working egr, and it ran worse than with it connected. But, it passed visual/function test. YMMV. But if you do not need it, not really necessary. The HO, does not have EGR. They changed to cam to compensate for lack of. Disco it, plug the lines at the manifold and go.
whowey
I looked up some various gasket numbers to see about possible compatibility. The 232/258 do not have the same numbers as the 4.0/2.5. That eBay ad claim about the V-8 might be suspect also as the gasket for a late 360 matches the 4.0 not the 258.

TheDude
I got it in the mail a few days ago but it's been way too cold to put it in.. I did make an interesting find about my roaming low idle issue. I had the lines to the EGR capped off and I was trying to do something quick under my hood my hands started to burn from the cold. so I was rushing and I broke the capped lines open and now my idle stays between 700 - 1000 rpm.. Which is a lot better than before with 250- 600 rpms. So now I'm leaning towards the IAC being bad and starving the engine of air.
