Co-MAAAN-cheee
I'm pretty ocd about maintaining original look and parts when I can. I'm missing several pieces of my body side molding. I was thinking about buying after market but I can't find anything that's a close match. I'm betting there's a bunch of original molding laying around someone would sell me, but, before I post on classifieds I thought I'd ask what others have done. Maybe there is new molding out there that looks great that I'm not finding. When you restored your truck, what did you do for body side molding? ParadiseMJ
When you say molding, do you mean the graphics? A.K.A "Pioneer" stickers. They are available on ebay. Some have said they can have them made by a graphics shop or a "wrap" shop.
Co-MAAAN-cheee
Body side Molding is the strip of material that runs down the side of a vehicle to protect from door dings. 87MJTIM
Thanks for the link My bodyshop used the molding from a Chevy, either a S10 or 1500. I can't recall It is not a perfect match. The chrome strip is off center

88mjblue
I'm interested to see what you come up with. If you get some from the junkyard, let me know how you plan to attach them, what kind of glue will hold them in place? I have my molding intact, but some are beginning to peel off, has anybody glued theirs back on?
Jeep Driver
http://cowlesproducts.com/protektotrim/pt_trucks-suv-molding/ Choose a style you like and replace all of it. It's self-adhesive and even if you found someone's 20 year old stash, I doubt it would be any good anyway...wouldn't stick for long, if at all. Strokermjcomanche
My two cents : If you find used molding its a crap shoot as to wether or not the old double sided tape will come off with ease especially if someone has taken the moldings off before . 3M makes an adhesive remover that helps get the old tape off but it can still be a pain . 3m makes the new double sided tape but it's pricey and may not stick well to the old moldings . Xj moldings are the closest I've found but they are off a bit at the center line and some have the red or silver center . Afaik no one makes the exact repro moldings . 87MJTIM
The cowelsproduct has a Chevy S10 3-3/8" 38-260. That is the closest to the original. The factory striping had the chrome strip centered on the molding. The above example has the strip shifted higher.
91Pioneer
Whoever is interested in moldings should e-mail Cowles and tell them what you want. Maybe they could reproduce the same stock Comanche style molding if there's enough interest.
