Anyone seen this snorkle?

Recommended Posts

It's the same Chinese ARB knock off that started showing up after ARB had the Safari Snorkel built over (up?) there. The reviews are generally good with the plastic being high quality but the paper template isn't exact and the hose that connects the airbox to the snorkel is poor fitting but can be replaced by a hose from the hardware store.

I put one on my wish list.

It seems to be decently made. Holding it up to the fender shows a good fit and holding it up to a friend's ARB shows it to be an exact match with the logo removed. It did not contain any sealant but even if you do not have any RTV or the like laying around it is cheap at the parts store

I have this snorkel on my Jeep. It's identical to the ARB w/o the logo as mentioned. It's plenty strong, robust, fits, whatever.

I'd buy it again without hesitation, although the other style mentioned above does allow you to keep your inner fender washer reservoir on a later model Jeep.

I have gone wheeling 3 or 4 times with it. Twice in deep water-filled mud holes & creek crossings. The airbox was totally dry after each trip. For me it was the cheapest and easiest way to correct the potential problem. And when side by side with a buddy's $400 ARB Safari Snorkle on his XJ the only difference in any of the parts is the lack of writing. They are identical in looks and apparently materials including the hose.

So which one is this? The $55.00 one? Or the one currently out of stock

I have the $55 one.

Only used it once since install and that was on a paved road at a flood crossing after a heavy rain. Water was at bumper level with a nice bow wave until a kid in his powerstroke decided to cross coming at me. Had a nice wall of water come over the hood when the bow waves collided.
