AeroNautical Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 Hmm, looks like a quality snorkel, but considerably cheaper than most. I'd be cautious. Also doesn't seem to include an air box sealer. I've seen people hydrolock WITH a snorkel, but an unsealed air box which gathered water like a bucket.
HOrnbrod Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 This one is better. A bit more expensive though. http://www.amazon.com/Road-Intake-Snorkel-Jeep-Cherokee/dp/B00NCCWPQ0/ref=sr_1_1?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1417408039&sr=1-1
87Warrior Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 It's the same Chinese ARB knock off that started showing up after ARB had the Safari Snorkel built over (up?) there. The reviews are generally good with the plastic being high quality but the paper template isn't exact and the hose that connects the airbox to the snorkel is poor fitting but can be replaced by a hose from the hardware store. I put one on my wish list.

Wesleypipesyo Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 Any time I offroad I land my jeep on the hood where a snorkel would go. You see the big dent, but also notice the soccer ball sized speed dimple behind my head. I avoid water and skip the snorkel.
Incommando Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 It seems to be decently made. Holding it up to the fender shows a good fit and holding it up to a friend's ARB shows it to be an exact match with the logo removed. It did not contain any sealant but even if you do not have any RTV or the like laying around it is cheap at the parts store
reece146 Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 I have this snorkel on my Jeep. It's identical to the ARB w/o the logo as mentioned. It's plenty strong, robust, fits, whatever. I'd buy it again without hesitation, although the other style mentioned above does allow you to keep your inner fender washer reservoir on a later model Jeep.
Blue88Comanche Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 Can you post a copy of the instructions they sent?
Incommando Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 No instructions just a template. To be fair they did state that in the ad.
reece146 Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 I was annoyed when I opened the box and it didn't have instructions. It wasn't a big deal to figure out though. I looked at some other installs online and really they weren't that useful. Just start plugging it together.
Incommando Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 I finally installed this thing. As mentioned above the install was pretty easy after watching a YouTube video some guy posted. My hose to air box fitting was easy to attach to the airbox. Everything mounted well.
Incommando Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 I have gone wheeling 3 or 4 times with it. Twice in deep water-filled mud holes & creek crossings. The airbox was totally dry after each trip. For me it was the cheapest and easiest way to correct the potential problem. And when side by side with a buddy's $400 ARB Safari Snorkle on his XJ the only difference in any of the parts is the lack of writing. They are identical in looks and apparently materials including the hose.
Incommando Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 it is hard to tell from this pic but this is in 28-30" of water based on where it hit on the tires
jeep690 Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 So which one is this? The $55.00 one? Or the one currently out of stock
87Warrior Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 So which one is this? The $55.00 one? Or the one currently out of stockI have the $55 one. Only used it once since install and that was on a paved road at a flood crossing after a heavy rain. Water was at bumper level with a nice bow wave until a kid in his powerstroke decided to cross coming at me. Had a nice wall of water come over the hood when the bow waves collided.
