SayBye Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 My 91 4.0 longbox threw and shredded the belt last night. No diagram under the hood. Any of these look familiar? It is an AC truck... these all look similar. Guessing this is what I need, each one just just a little different from the creators perspective...
dunnc1991 Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 My 91 is the same as the top left picture.
SayBye Posted November 24, 2014 Author Posted November 24, 2014 My 91 is the same as the top left picture. Thats what Ill shoot for then! Thanks!
ParadiseMJ Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 Just remember, grooved pulleys get the inside (grooved) part of the belt, smooth pulleys get the back side of the belt.
SayBye Posted November 25, 2014 Author Posted November 25, 2014 Nailed it. However lining the power steering pump back up was a pain in the butt. Coulda used another set of hands but I finally got it. Thanks y'all!
swsws1 Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 I need a belt diagram for a 1990 2.5l with AC.
HOrnbrod Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 I need a belt diagram for a 1990 2.5l with AC.
swsws1 Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 I don't think that diagram is acurate. The alt is above the AC and a small idler to the lower right of the alt.
HOrnbrod Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 That's what my belt routing book says for 87-89 2.5 w. air. maybe the 90 is different; I don't have that one. maybe someone else will chime in...
swsws1 Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 I looked at the routing diagram on advanced autos computer and theirs is the same as you showed me. It's all good brutha someone will lead me in the right direction.
swsws1 Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 My alternator is top left above the AC with a small idler to the lower right of the alternator
gogmorgo Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 Are you certain the a/c is factory? Pretty common as a dealer add-on. It's also not uncommon for an alternator to be relocated for better water fording ability.
fire797 Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 you never need a diagram if u just follow what paradisemj said. it works for every car made!!!!!!
