gogmorgo Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 I'd also point out that the aftermarket header panels don't fit as well as they should, meaning the factory ones are in demand. Not to mention most collisions involve the front end of the vehicle.

yellaheep Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Indeed. I swear, some used parts company around here has junk yard employees on the take. They snatch late model header panels before they hit the yards and sell them to the parts company. I've only been able to buy ONE from a junk yard. The rest came from jeeps I bought to part out from private parties, or from part outs on Craigslist.
Alexia Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 The only 1997+ XJ to come into the local junk yard in the past three months had the header panel removed by lunch time the same day it arrived. I even asked special permission from my manager to make a slightly extended lunch run. Yep, it was gone that fast.
