GirsMJ86
just to show everyone, we already have two members fighting over it so i would say the nice thing to do is stay out of it. but I'm just nice to other MJ owners that way. here ya all go though. http://cgi.ebay.com/Jeep-Comanche-Launch-Commemorative-Medal-July-1-1985_W0QQitemZ190105403927QQihZ009QQcategoryZ35930QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Alex

mfpdm
This is the second one I've seen on ebay. The last one went cheaper than what this one is at now. I was going to bid on this one but I saw it was getting run up. Good luck to the winner.
JeepcoMJ
never knew about them, and wouldn't buy one unless it fell into my lap...my mj may be a mall crawler but it isn't as though I'm going to be needing a commemorative coin for when i take it to shows... xmeatbagx
I was hoping to get it for cheap. Now I just hope I get it. Sean
xmeatbagx
It's not about shows and stuff, it's about having a piece of our beloved trucks history. And the fact that it's pretty cool. 8) Sean
JeepcoMJ
over my head lol. my piece of history is the truck itself... I took it to the limits with my 1981 yamaha srx 440 snowmobile though...but that one WILL see shows...I have every shred of literature and coins and even an original helmet and race-suit for it. The deal with that though is that that model of sled was so utterly fast and yet one of yamaha's biggest failures due to faulty crankshaft engineering... So I get WHY you want it. I just don't apply the same thing to my mj.

This guy has two. :brows: http://www.jeepsunlimited.com/forums/showthread.php?t=549758 I just noticed that the ebay seller and the guy in the link are in Ohio. Hmmm, I wonder if it the same person. Pete M
Apparently I got mine before the rest of the world found out about them. :D But on the subject of MJ paraphernalia, I just got my hands on this 2'x3' poster: And no, those aren't pushpins holding it up. Those are pushpin-shaped magnets and I attached some small pieces of metal to the wall first. I thought I snapped a pic of the backside of the poster, but I can't find it. I'll get that up asap. Mitch
ya that coin is going for half of what most MJ's are worth right now lol... Ill take pride in beating the truck I own... The coins are all yours.
jeepdoggydogB
That's a nice poster Pete great find, I bought the Comanche clock and have it in my garage. I can't beleive the auction is over $60, the first time I saw that coin a few months back it didn't sell because the reserve wasn't met at $7.

Pete M
It's from 85/86. Seems to be some sort of magazine insert since it folds up to 8.5x11 and has info on both sides. :dunno:

comanche-man22
alright i will admit i have never seen that or anything like it ever... so what exactly is it for and why did it sell for so much?
mfpdm
alright i will admit i have never seen that or anything like it ever... so what exactly is it for and why did it sell for so much? Well the one I got wasn't near as much as the one earlier in this thread. I got mine for $20. The story behind these coins is that they were given to the factory workers the day they released the Comanche, which is the date on the coin. These were never released to the general public for sale, so the only way to get one is if someone wants to part with it. They end up on ebay from time to time. The one I got was listed under the mis-spelled version of the MJ, "Commanche" which is why I think I was able to get it cheaper.
