TheDirtyJeep401
Well, I had to pull over today because there was steam flying out everywhere from under my hood. Looked at my radiator, and there was a huge slash in it. I am going to try and get it warranted, or fixed, but if I can't, does anyone have any good recommendations? Especially looking for aluminum, I am getting tired of all this plastic crap and want something durable. Its an 86 2.5. Thanks!
Jeep Driver
Image Not Found If it is one of these, they come with a lifetime warranty. If you want a custom aluminum........send it out to have one made.........about $500.
ride172
Check out the all metal 3 core Rad from radiator barn. Quick shipping and very reasonable prices. My xj loves its Rad. The mj will get one too when needed. Right now the mj has factory Rad with inline filler neck and cap.
ride172
Just checked and radiator barn is out of business. Sorry for the bad info. The brand I got was a CSF all metal Rad. I'm sure someone else sells them.

Jeepman
I just changed my Rad out to an all Aluminum and would look for an all copper or all aluminum but being an 86 might be tough.. I used this for those out there with a 4.0L http://www.ebay.ca/itm/181196246622?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
ride172
When I bought my 86 it spit the fan off and poked my radiator on the way home. Bought one from Jeeps unlimited(junkyard) in Erie Co. $70 and I left him the old one. It was all metal as was the original. Maybe try car-part.com and search for 84-86 xj? I have an AC condenser that will fit it..

yxmj
I replaced mine with a new old stock Xj (I am planning on swapping in a 4L so it made sense) the only mod was a longer upper hose was required I also own a YJ, and that rad from either the 2.5L or the 4L will be a direct bolt in for you (both hoses will work)
carnuck
If you have a std trans, I'll have the one out of my Comanche very soon to sell for $50 (all metal) The trans cooler leaks into the rad under heavy acceleration so it's not usable.
