Alicia Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 I've been thinking about doing this http://www.rocky-road.com/jeep-comanche-lift-kit.html What do you think? I wasn't going to do the whole SOA but I don't know now. This makes it sound so easy.
onlyinajeep726 Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 Sounds like a good idea in theory. Wonder how successful it is. I like the ease of installation factor though.
Alicia Posted September 23, 2013 Author Posted September 23, 2013 It's only $500 and probably a lot more for shipping but I've been looking around a lot and I keep going back to this
onlyinajeep726 Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 Sounds like you've made your choice lol. Since you're not far from me, perhaps I can see it once it's installed. I don't have any plans as of now to lift my MJ, but I like the idea of this kit.
cruiser54 Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 Nice lift. What about the rear plates being rock magnets though? Speaking of leaf springs, anybody got a spare leaf with the clamps on it? Mine busted.
dscowell Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 I would think about it they are cheap for a reason. Rocky road will leave out parts to make their lifts cheap and in the end you end up spending more.
mnkyboy Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 That kit is ok but its a lot more then $500 dollars once you add the missing pieces. At a minimum your gonna want to add adjustable control arms and/or control arm drop brackets, you may also want to add front brake lines and sway bar dissconects.

Eagle Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 I would have grave doubts about any company that (1) goes to great lengths to diss the competition, and (2) can't spell "bolt-on" correctly. When I first read their description of their rear axle kit, I thought Michael Bolton must have gotten interested in off-roading. Then I realized: "Hey! These dudes just can't spell." Imagine my disappointment.
Alicia Posted September 23, 2013 Author Posted September 23, 2013  read here: http://comancheclub.com/topic/35519-55-600-mj-lift-cheap-high-quality-100-complete-lift/ Thanks Pete, I didnt see this before. Alexia put a lot of work into this and I took off some great info! I would have grave doubts about any company that (1) goes to great lengths to diss the competition, and (2) can't spell "bolt-on" correctly. Imagine my disappointment. Eagle, You and I are on the same page with this. I had to read the paragraph twice to understand they were trying to say BOLT-ON and not Bolton.. LOL I was thinking Bolton was a brand they were using... but NOPE they just can't spell.

I am going to add adjustable arms and drop brackets eventually...but just not right away. I have to re-do all the brake lines.. I'm actually surprised the brakes worked when I got the truck because the lines are so badly rusted, ate away, broken off and not even attached. :dunno: but you are right.. with all of that being done it is going to cost more then $500.
