skidoo_j
To my knowledge if you're wanting pre-made flares you are stuck with stock as your only choice if you don't want extended flares. Or you could make some out of the landscape edging. Otherwise the only two companies i've encountered that have flares designed to fit the comanche with minimal fitment: Bushwackers cut outs provide like 5 or six inches of coverage. Napier precision provide 3.25" of coverage. rusty's off road makes some but last time i looked they didn't have photos showing what theirs looked like. Also they don't claim they will fit the comanche
ParadiseMJ
If you don't want to spend $300-400 on bushwhackers either go flareless and trim or replace the stock flares. If you didn't break the plastic stock flares you can either fix the hold downs with bolts & nuts or buy new hold downs, and repaint the flares. I regret the flare/fender "trimming" I did on my XJ. I should have kept it stock.
Ronnie
I tried to order a new set of hold down brackets. They were on back-order for 3 months and I gave up. Hoping to find another option for the brackets...... Wish I could weld? If you find or know of a source for new brackets - I am interested. I guess I have more money than skill and not very much of either. Verified "Tinkerer" , preferably in the shade.

yxmj
This might be a redundant statement but in your searches look at flares for 2 door Cherokee's....they should be close
ParadiseMJ
This might be a redundant statement but in your searches look at flares for 2 door Cherokee's....they should be close The fronts...yes. The rear XJ flares on a 2 door are the same as 4 door flares. So XJ specific. The OP would be better off fixing the brackets, and repainting the flares IMHO

GirsMJ86
Hold down brackets? Are we talking about those rusty pieces of metal that the bolts go through? Solution around that is to just use stainless nuts, bolts, and fender washers. Works perfectly, I've done it on two or three MJs.
ParadiseMJ
That'll work too. I have all stainless bolts on mine...but I also have the old brackets with the spot welds drilled out and put back on.

So the body is hacked up for both the MJ and XJ so they both fit the same in the end.

Not even almost close. See the post above by myself and Skidoo..... The OP never asked for stock flares....he never says he is against modifying the wheel wheel opening....he asks for "some nice units" The units we supplied links to ARE made for both the Comanche and the 2 door Cherokee...and it would be up to his taste to judge if they are "some nice units"

GirsMJ86
Are your original flares trashed? I don't think that was ever really answered. If you're just looking for all new ones because of the busted retainer brackets, those brackets are not even needed. Like I said above, stainless bolts, washers, and nuts work just as well if not better since they will never rust. Can't even tell they are there if you have the molding that fills the gap, or paint them black. I've done it to three MJs and will be doing it either before or after winter on the rig I'm picking up Monday, whether it needs it or not. Have you tried posting in the wanted section if you actually are in need of new flares, or even the brackets if you feel they are a requirement. sinkrun
Girs is right just use bolts found out one of my front brackets that I ordered was wrong did not want to wait so I used bolts quite easy. I used spray can bed liner on my beat up factory flares and they look amazing there was nothing to it.
