Out of the blue she says..."I wouldnt mind having a silver jeep patriot" I said "how about a real jeep like a cherokee or a grand cherokee diesel if I could find one" She said "no...those are ugly" maybe I shouldnt have gotten married

dasbulliwagen Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 If you can get one with a manual trans, it will be marginally OK to own. They do have trail rated models, but they are only available with the CVT trans.... and you definitely don't want one of those! Take it from a Chrysler Tech, those things are horrible! The newer models are now available with a 6 speed Hyundai automatic trans that is a vast improvemnt over the CVT, but its still a a Patriot. Good luck with all this!

87Warrior Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 I have liked the Patriot size, fit and style since they came out. They feel more like an XJ than anything. Then I drove one while my wife and I were looking for a vehicle for her.... My attitude changed to complete disgust for the Patriot. Just pathetic (CVT model). I am relieved we picked up a 5.7 WK instead :)

They disliked both of them, they where too small on the inside. Her 03 KJ was huge on the inside compared to them. They ended up getting a 2012 Liberty, and mom still loves it. I had also looked at the patriot for myself at one point and did not care for it. Then the sales man showed me a 09 WK and I loved it.
