Zenobian_84
What's the best method to clean the inside of the windshield washer tank? After 25 years of buildup from various windshield cleaning agents, there are some deposits on the inlet pump at the bottom. Plus, it's just plain grimey down there. :ack: Tried a few different times cleaning it, with no real improvement in appearance after the cleaning. :dunno:
88mjgilley
you could try vinegar but i don't know if the acid in it would be strong enough to cut through all the grime
cruiser54
Remove it. Put some salt in it along with some ice cubes and shake the crap out of it. Repeat as needed. This is an old trick to remove burned on brown crap from coffee carafes.
foreman1063
Maybe CLR would do it.
Guest
Did the old salt n' ice trick along with adding some warm water to the mix. Got rid of the deposits, but the tank still looks grimey. Cleaned it up some and slapped it back into the truck with a fill up of washer fluid. Good enough for me. On a related note; is there anywhere to get a new square style of washer jug? Did a pretty good google search and couldn't come up with anything. Don't know if it's a 2.5 thing, an AMC thing, or a 2.5 / AMC thing (assuming a 2.5 AMC thing due to the stamping on the front of the jug. Not sure if Chrysler changed where the jug was positioned in the 2.5 engine bay, or the overall design of it when they took over production) Picture by 90PioSport99 Image Not Found If there isn't anywhere to get a new reservoir tank, could a newer style tank be used? Already know about the 97+ XJ inner fender tank, but I'd rather not go that route.

USN dictum.
