Stopped by a local junkyard today in south bend Indiana. Found 3 Comanches, all pretty ragged but still a few useable parts.... But when they wanted 40$ each per tail light, and 15 bucks each for headlight bezels, i had to walk away. I can only imagine what they would want for a fuel sending unit or anything else worth the trouble. Since when did junkyards start charging so much? I hate being poor.

I've only bought one set of MJ tail lights from a P&P. $40 for the pair. Don't know what a regular JY would have priced. If they were in good shape you should have grabbed them. They're going for $50 ea and up in the market.

My local JY got hip to the MJ taillight "value" after I bought my 2nd pair...

The first pair was $10 each, just like an XJ

The second pair I bought was $20 each. Now they go for $30 each OR $50 a pair. I'm glad I snaggged that 2nd pair forr replacements.

LKQ south bend would get around $40 a set. Depends on the grade. The market sets the prices though...

It's not about being poor.... I don't understand it either in miami you pay the same for pulling the part than someone else pulling it for you.... Idk maybe ill be lucky to find another junkyard but I only have two u pull its and they charge an arm and a leg most of the time I stuff things into my huge cargo short pockets and stick it to them for sticking it to Me with the price

Yeah, I'll probably go back next week... There was another pair of good ones, I'll just tell them it was from a cherokee and maybe go to a different employee and offer 50 for the pair....see what happens.

I've never heard of different prices for parts from different vehicles, around here it is same price for same type of part. So a taillight is always the same price no matter the vehicle, usually about $20 each though :fs1:

hell most ive paid for tail lights was 10 a piece. lowest was 5.

our market here has always been decent. no one really over charges

Pick-n-pull yards aren't legal in Connecticut but I've been to big ones in Massachusetts and Pennsylvania. Same price for whatever part (taillight, bumper, grille, etc.), regardless of what vehicle it comes off. The one in PA even has a printed price sheet -- I use his prices as my prices in the rare event I have a spare of something when somebody urgently needs it.

Where I'm living up north for school I got quoted 150-275 for a used front driveshaft,

Down south where I live I rebuilt it to new for $150 xD

At my pnp they are $20+tax

Nothing is legal in Connecticut. I agree pnp's are nuts on pricing. I shop cl for part outs anymore
