My vote is to bring er home and tinker with it and then drive it down the block with huge smile. Pics of the Rx7 must be included into this thread for it to continue just sayin hahaha

Get it if you want, don't get it if you don't. If you are willing to spend the time and sweat and $$ to get it right, then be proud to own a unique truck unlike the rest of the herd, do it. If not, look elsewhere.

Alright i picked it up earlier this morning and have already started stripping down the motor. Actually got it running for about 2 mins at the dudes house but there was a terrible ticking coming from the lifters. Knowing the selling had no idea what he was doing during his head gasket repair I'm just going to break it down and insp and re torque. Ill post pics later, thanks for all the pressure lol.

Alright after a little tinkering I found all the lifters to be loose. 19ft lbs..... maybe he thought 19in lbs.... Anyway tighten 'em all up and new valve gasket. Charged the battery and then bam.... Nothing. Now its just cranking. No actually turining over. Ideas?

Do you know if it has the correct length pushrods? So are you saying that you tightened down the rockers, then it quit running or did you do some other stuff that may have caused it to lose spark?

start simple, make sure it has spark, if you had the distbutor off make sure you got it back in time, and make sure its not 180* out. If that all checks out good, make sure you have fuel pressure

Lifters may have been over extended due to loose rockers.

So now all the valves will be hanging open. BUT you should get some cool backfires when cranking if so.

If you go out tmrw morning and it starts right up... its cause the lifters bled back down overnight.

But what was said is good. check spark and fuel and then go from there. Basics always finds the answer.
