zekekb Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 I took my son and one of his buddies on a camping trip in the Appalachian foothills. I have a Ford Edge that is fully loaded with air conditioning, DC outlets for their games, a great stereo etc. The Comanche has just now gotten to a point where I can trust it to make it down the interstate without exploding. It has a bench seat, no A/C, crappy stereo, and the passenger side window gets stuck when rolled all the way down. As we were packing, I asked them, "Do you want to take the Ford or the truck?" They both replied "Lets take the Jeep!" It was cool seeing the boys wanting to rough it out. Well the Comanche made the 300+ mile round trip without a single hiccup. It ran just fine and used much less fuel than I had anticipated. I wanted to thank all of you for sharing the knowledge and passion for a pretty cool little truck. You all contributed to making memories for a couple of 9 year old kids. At the campsite Fishing for trout Worn out
HOrnbrod Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Looks like you tuckered them out a wee bit. :D Good story.
shelbyluvv Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 That is very cool! It is amazing what a 20+ year old pick up can do to people. These are not just trucks. They are a life style. I can't wait for my son to drive Betty off for the first time once he gets his license. He is going to be the coolest kid in town.

ComancheKid45 Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 I do not currently have any children but when i do, I assure you theyll have Jeep in their Blood and Comanche in their hearts :D
