MJRemi Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 I've been looking out for a 2dr XJ but I want the latest model possible. Didn't they produce these up to 2001? Please chime in if you know the answer.
HOrnbrod Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 Looks like the 96 model was the last US 2-door model according to my parts manuals. But the exports had two door models available through 2001. Maybe you can pick one up in Mexico? Si?
Automan2164 Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 2001. They are for sale all the time on Craigs. Rob
Alexia Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 There were made in the USA up until 2001 mainly seen as part of fleet vehicles. There are several 1997 to 2001 two door models in the city maintenance parking garages around here. The higher end trim levels were generally only offered on four door models.
Tux_Fan Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 They were made until 2001 although 97-01 2 door models are much more rare.
HOrnbrod Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 Interesting. My Mopar 97 and up XJ parts manuals don't even show a 2-door XJ. :dunno:
MJRemi Posted May 20, 2012 Author Posted May 20, 2012 Well I guess I'll keep looking but I have yet to see a 97-01 for sale in the San Diego area. It doesn't have to have every bell & whistle but power windows and locks would be nice. Thanks for the info guys!
Sir Sam Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 01 was the last year for the 2 door........not even made in china......
Rymanrph Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 I've got a 99 two door that I'll be selling soon but you're a little far away. Good luck with the search.
mvusse Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 I've seen several 97-01 2 doors over the past few years. Not very many, though.
MJRemi Posted May 23, 2012 Author Posted May 23, 2012 What a coewinkidink!! http://sandiego.craigslist.org/csd/cto/3032331222.html
carnuck Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 Found a '99 in the junkyard with manual windows even. Thinking about an extended cab project this winter.
