Paul Bruchal
If you were going on a trip from NC to Southern FL what would you bring? Around 2012 new years, My dad is having another daughter and offered me to visit and help out in southern FL. Offered to buy me a plane ticket but thats boring and Then I wouldnt have transportation while I'm there. I don't have a job and I just sold my Kawasaki ninja for $1700 and all of that cash is going in my MJ. My MJ "if you don't already know" is a 1990 Eliminator with 90k miles, runs perfect, Rusty, and a brand new full exhaust. I have a GPS and Radar Detector and CB radio. Bringing all my tools and extra coolant. What else? Can I bring a gun for protection since I'm driving threw the night? " :D m70 AK 47" Or will I be arrested if pulled over? Jeep Driver
I've owned 30+ AKs at one time........down to my one 'tool' now....... Bad choice of personal protection for travel. FL concealed carry permit covers all legal weapons and you'd be OK in FL but not in SC or GA and it doesn't sound like you have a FL permit. Paul Bruchal
Yea I just talked to my friend whos a truck driver. He said its a bad idea while in GA. So scratch that off the list.

87Warrior
Radar Detector? You'll save a lot of $$$ on fuel if you don't need to use it ;) A good set of pliers, knife, duct tape and a multi-tool should get you out of most road side pickles. My fuel pump seal is bad anyway and the tank now is probably rusted...

Sorry, but pretty much any real bad @$$ criminal that comes at you is going to be better armed and much more determined to "getcha". So, are you prepared to stab, slice, hack or shoot someone because they're messing with your tool box...I didn't think so! You have a much better chance of hitting a deer or getting creamed by a Casino Tour Bus gone crazy. Relax. Just enjoy your road trip and carry a AAA card with you. HOrnbrod
Relax. Just enjoy your road trip and carry a AAA card with you. Man, if you're worrying maximus about a fairly short trip like that, your heep must be in sad shape, you don't maintain your MJ, or you've never driven that far before. Basic tool kit and fluids (ATF, water, fuel can, etc.) is all you'll need. Trust in your MJ.

johnj92131
If your truck runs perfect, what are you worried about? Make sure your tires are in good shape and you have a good spare. You are driving at night, so how are your lights? Worried about gas on the Interstate because you can only fill your tank with 9 or 10 gallons before it leaks? Fix the problem before you leave. Use the $80 you were going to spend on that 3 gallon Rotex tank to buy a gasket and fix your leak. don't want to do that, buy some 5 gal. jerry cans. I have 3 and never used them. Hold your speed down and you will still be able to go 200 plus miles on 10 gallons of gas. I got 23 mpg just by holding the speed to 60. Enjoy your trip, don't worry so much, be happy you have a good running MJ. You will have a nice safe trip. If you were going on a trip from NC to Southern FL what would you bring?
