My only suggestion is to do lots of research and figure out exactly what you want/need from the lift then find a kit that works for you.

don't forget that a lift is only part of the equation. axle strength and gearing are also important. :thumbsup:

 

4.5" could be enough with some longer bumpstops, the right wheels, or some fender trimming.

Your truck won't sit level,I originally did a 5" SOA lift and I ended up going 6.5" to get it level.

 

A lot of people don't like rustys,that kit looks ok for a low end budget kit.

 

What kind of stuff do you plan to do with your truck?

plenty of variables when going SOA. 2wd leaves sit about an inch lower than 4wd. sagging leaves will mean less lift needed up front. leaves in better shape mean more is needed. the type of perch you use can affect the end height. bottom line is you could end up with anything between 5 and 6.5 inches needed up front to match the rear.

ill be driving it to school and doin some wheelin on the weekends.i plan on doing a axle swap.lift kit to clear 33 12.5. its goin to be my dd for bout 3 years if it will last.o wait its a jeep,of coarse it will :cheers: jamminz.gif any other things yall would recomend doin to it??

I would do 6"-6.5" with soa rear,with either adj upper/lower arms and drop brackets or some type of long arm.

 

It would clear 33x12.50s and perform well on and off road

 

Big question is how much do you want to spend?

I'm willing to go to $800 for a lift kit. 6in lift sounds sorta high but that would have great flex.i like your suggestion tho.i would consider it if i could find a kit for that much.

Keep in mind that MJs sit fairly low stock,a 6" lifted MJ really isn't that big.

 

If you carefully pieced it together you could probably pull 6" off for around $800

Lift it 3" and run 33s. Get wheels with around 3.25" of backspacing, trim the fenders, and bumpstop. Going any higher and you everything starts to get real spendy. You'll be happier with how it drives at 3" than 6", especially since you are going to be daily driving it.

1 3/4" or 2" spacers up front and the 2" chevy drop brackets in the rear seem to work good for a small bump in height. :thumbsup:

That's exactly my setup as of now and I keep up with Cherokees with 4.5-7 inches of lift with 33 mid terrains on trails and such, it's a great setup ad you get to learn how to drive your jeep better through anything you may come across :cheers: Even if you aren't doing any offroading it just looks nice :banana:

I've got a 2wd that will eventually be 4wd.... can I still just use chevy drop brackets in the rear for a decent 2"? I figuered I would have to do something like add a leaf cause the 2wd leaves sit way lower than the 4wd?

 

Sry to ask another question within a thread but can u convert from spring under to over in the rear by re welding the perches for a little bit of lift? What's the difference in performance from spring under to spring over?

yes, it'll work exactly the same on your 2wd truck. But it'll be about an inch lower than a 4wd truck with the same mods. but that doesn't matter since it's still going to be tall enough for 31s on stock rims. :thumbsup:
