Crap from other forums - May need to read fast

Hmm. I guess its a result of our society.

I don't know how or when, but there are a lot of folks (even some in this forum) who have forgotten that at one time they actually didn't know very much, and had to go ask questions, or read, or search. Unfortunately, these folks that have a smattering of intelligence (and I use that word lightly) retained some of that knowledge....just enough to make them 'smarter' then others.

Then, as the mood strikes them, they suddenly feel 'superior' to the folks who don't have the knowledge, and they believe that gives them the right to act like asses.

In reality, it just makes them look like asses.

I am glad that the moderators here use forsight to keep this behavior to a minimum.

just my .02

and those moderators are humble enough to handle it all, and among them are those who have much, much more jeep knowledge than the rest of the people here. along with that are those that are not humble at all, and still know just about everything that can be known about them.

I gotta say that...just because someone doesn't have patience and comes off as an @$$, doesn't mean that they're not right.

JeepcoMJ, I am right there with you. I understand completely where you are coming from. However, commenting about a dead solder to his brother is quite over the top IMO. That was really what I was commenting on.

I suppose. the OP does tend to show american rights pretty well...while his brother showed patriotism.

I guess that's the difference IMHO. I have more respect for his brother than I do for him. I wouldn't insult someone who made the ultimate sacrafice for our country, nor make fun of someone for serving our country....but the OP just showed everything I disrespect in his first post. if you check, I did post there...and was nice for the pure fact that he switched to respectable posting.

Although I have a lot of bad things to say about CherokeeForum, what went down, in my opinion, was just a couple idiots going back and forth. (CherokeeForum does a great job attracting that crowd.) That could happen on any forum, but moderators should clean up all that crap.

I was on CherokeeForum, for about 15 minutes, I'm so proud of this:

I have accounts on several other forums, but I don't even bother anymore. I left Jeepsunlimited when I had an entire thread telling me that if I have to ask questions, I shouldn't be on the forum. ...isn't that the whole point?

This is the only place I go now. My brother has an account, but seems reluctant to post since he doesn't have an MJ, just the XJ. I've told him this is the best place to ask any Jeep related question. Ugh.

I am on pirate, Jeep Forum, Jeepin.com, Jeeps Unlimited, Colorado4x4.org, NAXJA, IFSJA, and a few scout boards.

the only places I still go is pirate to lurk, JF or naxja for searches, or here to post.

I get most of my daily comedic value from Jeepin.

the reason forums go down in flames is people just can't accept other people. nice people can't accept rude people. why not? you don't have to be a fool just because they are. i am an a$$hole sometimes, seriously, a huge one, and sometimes i help people a lot who don't ask for it but need it. the world is too big for people to get upset about how other people and have $#!& run smoothly. live and let live. if someone wants to hate, ehh, if someone is stupid, ok.

I have left two forums because of the way they progressed over the years. What it boiled down to was the resale value of the cars came way down and were now affordable by a bunch of young bucks who had no appreciation for the car and would ask questions that would make me shake my head. I still go to those boards every so often to see what has been going on in the community, but it's just not worth my time to weed through the threads of common questions and chest thumpers talking about how they just went 130MPH in a 45MPH zone.

CC has been, by far, the best message board I've ever been a part of. People are always willing to help and whenever there is a disturbance in the peace, the moderators generally put it to rest before it gets too out of hand. I don't see too many internet-egos on this board as I do on the others that I have left and that's a very good thing.

3si? lol

I had completely forgotten about that... I laughed about it for days....

As wrong as it might have been..It was pretty damn funny behind the scenes.

what did you do?

Short version....

They had a popularity contest for people who could buy as many cheap, shiny, low quality parts and strap them on the rigs... Darren registered a pile of accounts, got his truck in the contest and voted for himself repeatedly. Some people got all butt hurt over it...

That is true but you are excluding the best part. The best part was his apology. It was almost verbatum the same apology from Tiger Woods when he messed around on his wife. :rotf:
