Hi, I'm here to introduce Lilly, my 88 Manche

Recommended Posts

Hi, all I just picked her up about a month ago. She sat for over 3 years before I got her and I've already had some work done, with plenty to go.

Here she is as she sat

Let's, see, so Far, I've done a tune up, a new alternator, battery, Power steering lines. a new coolant tank. and a new gas tank.

I still need to do a main rear brake line, and ball joints, but I also picked up a 95 cherokee to get parts from and my plan is a SOA lift in back so I"m gonna take the HP 30 out of the 95 and put it in my manche.

I'll try to get some more pictures when I finally get home and it's still light

I eventually plan on swapping over the brake booster, the AX15 and the HO 4.0 when I get a chance, so I'll pretty much strip the 95 to build up Lilly

Oh, I live in Maine near the NH boarder

Looks like you got a nice topper with it,,,,,let me know if you want to get rid of it. I'd jump all over a red factory topper... haha

I would love to sell it, it's a Leer, but it was re-painted with the truck about 5 years ago. I want to go with a back rack/toolbox combo eventually. but I don't think you want to drive 1500 miles each way for the topper.

Ah, yes, just a little slow on the uptake. "you just made the second biggest mistake, the first being don't start a land war in Asia, but closely followed by don't bet a Sicilian when death is on the line"

Nice truck. Warning they are very addictive!

I noticed your sig, It says 09 WJ? Jeep stopped making the WJ in 2004. I think you have a WK.

Yep, your right, fixed now,

I do have to say, I haven't had an off-roader yet that wasn't addictive. :help:

Bringing this back up, I finally got some money to put into it, and got it stickered, although now I'm getting a vibration from say 45-70, gets worse with speed, then gets better the faster you go  so, I'm gonna try getting the tires balanced to see if that helps.

I also finally took off the cap,

and installed a Back Rack off a Ranger, it fits perfect width wise, but it is an inch or two shorter then the roof, but it will work with my plans for it.

I just need to get a tool box for it now, I'd like to get used, but I'm looking for a black aluminum single lid, so I'll probably have to get a plain diamond plate one.

and I'll put an add up in the for sale section, but if you know any one that wants a cap it's for sale.

ok, not much to post pictures of, but when they repainted the truck they must have had the doors off because where the switch goes that controls the dome lights was all painted, I had to get a wire brush in there to get a good ground again, I've replace the speaker in the pass door cause the one in there wasn't working, and it was toast, no cone left at all, next I need to put it's match in the DS door, and get some 4x6's for the b-pillar because the one on the DS isn't working.

That thing is beautiful...

Rob

Thank you, but unfortunately it doesn't look quite as good underneath, but it's not the end of the world, I really need to find sometime this summer to take the bed off and coat the rear frame and the underside of the bed.

it'd be even better if the grill wasnt upside down :headpop: or wait, down side up? :D

 It's funny you mention that, I've already fixed it, I just thought I did it before I took the pictures.

So, after taking it on a 2 hour trip this morning, with no issue, and a return trip tonight I have an oil soaked Air filter and it even leaked out of the oil fill cap and onto the exhaust manifold cover, and after doing some research I think I'm pretty much screwed, :headpop: I didn't have an issue on short trips, so I'll have to try a compression check, but I'm not keeping my hopes up

Meh, I wouldn't be worried at all I bet that you just need to pull the valve cover, and clean the vent stacks inside of it. If someone had an XJ/MJ and told me their oil filter wasn't covered in oil I would be more surprised.

I mean, sounds terrible, pay me, and I might think about taking it off your hands and relieving you of the problem.

Rob :D
