mvusse Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 This one goes BEHIND the Jeep: Technically I've already had it for 20 years, but it's been stored at my uncle's dairy farm in Canada for 16 years (and borrowed a few times while there). He finally dug it out for me and I will be towing it home Sunday.
jpdocdave Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 jeeze, thats a big one, very nice. i just practically gave away a smaller one last week.
JeepcoMJ Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 jeeze, thats a big one, very nice. i just practically gave away a smaller one last week. and you didn't tell me about it? I've been lookin for one!
Jerry Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 Behind, on top  or in the trunk, camping is gooooooooooood!
freakjeep93 Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 thats in nice shape . and a good size too. our old one isnt worth taking anywhere any more so ill soon be tearing it apart to make a utility trailer
mvusse Posted May 1, 2010 Author Posted May 1, 2010 The sucker weighs 1560 pounds dry, with a max loaded weight of 2000 pounds even. For a pop-up, it's ginormous. Technically, to tow it with the Cherokee, it needs brakes.
shelbyluvv Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 I love my PUP. The older Starcraft's were very good units. Mine is a tad heavier at 4300# loaded. Enjoy your new to you again toy!
Geonovast Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 Behind, on top  or in the trunk, camping is gooooooooooood! I doubt it could ever feel like camping with one of those. Real camping, IMO, is one of these: And a couple of these: Looks nice and comfy though.
Jerry Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 "Real camping" IMO is getting to those out the way places down knarly trails and having a good fire and cook-up (edit: and LOTS of ice cold beer from my fridge). What you sleep in/under don't matter as long as you're out there doing it. I'm not sure just how much sleep I'd have gotten on this rocky river bank last weekend if I was tenting though! ;)
dunl Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 Very nice. But I agree, real camping involves a tent, and pulling cold drinks out of running water. Not dragging your living room out into nature for a weekend. :D
SuperWade2 Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 Nice... I've been searching Craigslist for a Tent Trailer Locally, but can't bring myself to part $2-$5K that most people want, even for some crappy ones...anything under $1000 is pretty much needing a complete rebuild, new canvas, new wheels, and a lots of lots of work.
