Pete M
So I've decided to put forth effort to gather up an example of every MJ ad ever published and keep them together for posterity's sake (and scan them to put on our site of course :D ), which inevitably led to ebay, and shock that guys are asking 5 bucks plus for them. (they aren't selling, so don't go thinking you've hit some sort of goldmine) Seems thousands of ads from old mags are finding their way to ebay, so it's not like it's an MJ-thing. and thus I'm going a different route and asking you guys to look around the house for magazines from 85-92 (seems most ads were from the early years). Doesn't have to be a 4x4 mag, or even a car-related mag. If you've got some, leaf through 'em to see if there's anything about MJs. If you find one, let me know and I'll PM you my address. articles about MJs are even better. some examples I've seen online:
sinkrun
Pete I am sure I could come up with some this summer cleaning houses out. In fact on that I did this winter I found right on top a pile of junk was opened to the page of the comanche Add as if it was a sign. Its the red one you allready have though. I do have the dealer posters I told you about the only MJ is a black one with roll bars and push bar IIRC I could send you a nice pic of it way to big to scan. Lenard
I found one of those pennzoil bottle earlier this year, was in real good shape never opened. Me and couple guys were cleaning out a shop for a neighbor, I set it aside to take home, went back to get it, and one of the guys had thrown it away :headpop: I looked through the trash bags but couldn't find it, they had already burned some of them, so needless to say I was very :fs1:

GreenF350
This reminds me of an old Petersons 4wheel & Off Road issue I had from the early 90's. I was young but still remember being interested in an article where Jeep was promoting the MJ, and they had one painted as though it were see-through. I remember it being very detailed, and you could make out parts of the engine, interior, chassis, and everything else in the paint, as though the body was clear. I believe the truck was displayed at some auto show.......cool stuff. Anyways, that was my 1st time actually noticing an MJ, and apparently the image stuck. Now I have to see if I have the mag! ( i try not to throw too many out )
johnnyc
I have a box full of Playboys from that time period. Don't know why I still have them. But as I remember, they had automotive ads in them. I'll have to go through them and see what I can find.
kroyusa
In '87 or '88 Hot Rod did a build on an MJ with a 4.2 crank and a Paxton blower. I'll dig around for the issue but it may take a little time, already checked the easy places.
