dasbulliwagen Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 It should be an unwritten rule that to be called a Jeep, its hood should open to almost 90 degrees like the CJ's, Wranglers and our trucks. I was working on a Commander today to change the spark plugs and the hood only opens to about 45 degrees! It doesnt let any light in, and makes it difficult to work on stuff.... Just my 2 cents!
HOrnbrod Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 Don't install a Reflexxion cowl hood then. The hood won't open past 45 degrees unless you pull off the right wiper arm. :fs1:
the_wizard_of_fire Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 but doesnt the fact that you wrote it down now mean that its impossible to be an "un-written" rule? :clapping:
smithe1811 Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 A Commander is not a Jeep. :shake: Willy X2, i had one :ack:
ComancheKid45 Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 Rule #2- to even be considered a Jeep there must be 2 solid Axles underneath it, IFS is not found on any real Jeeps i know of :smart:
Oizarod115 Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 what is this 90* you speak of? my hood fits perfectly but unlike ALL my friends cherokees, the hood tries to junk out the wiper blades to get to the second support rod cutout. my volvo on the other hand, and many others as well, go up to a full 90 which is amazing. (none of that late model BS does though)

M1A1TankerTom Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 I bought my ex-wife a commander...nice car...but definatley not a jeep
smithe1811 Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 I traded my 5.9 zj for one :( i regret it every day. even worse is i get to see the 5.9 every day as no one has owned it since it was sold at auction after i traded it in. the used car dealer that has it wants like 10k for it

Closer, but it still looks like a$$. Bushwackers and lifted 6" too much. :ack: I'd still rather have a real minivan for my trips to the mall. :shake: Willy
