bkdrocks
I need to add between a 1/2 -1 inch to the rear,Whats the easiest way to get this? I have a spring over and 5.5 front springs but I would like a little more rake ?
Geonovast
An XJ main leaf with the eyes cut out on each side ought to do it.
Pete M
HellCreek has an AAL that should give an inch. comes with the hardware you'll need too.
STERLING STINGER
add a leaf....75-100 bucks at ur local spring shop
Geonovast
Remember with SOA you have to factor in the amount of lift the AAL will add, plus the thickness of the leaf itself.
89eliminator
lift shackle, don't get an AAL.

STERLING STINGER
ill just replace them for another $75 I'm just saying i like them "so far"....hows that?
Pete M
adding in an MJ main leaf as an AAL will give a small lift and will not negatively affect the ride. I've done it more than once and have no complaints. the Hellcreek AAL is essentially an MJ main leaf with no eyes.
JeepcoMJ
like pete said... hellcreek is the only place I'd consider buying from.
Eagle
To add a half inch with a spring over, I would just stick a 1/2" steel spacer under each leaf. You don't need new shackles or AALs. Keep it simple.
Pete M
only concern with that is spacers would contribute to spring-wrap. :( an AAL helps fight it.
DJM/78
It was given to my attention today that one of the best ways to set leafs up is to have them made by a good local shop . You will still get a good ride and they will custom make any length you want . Maybe Hell Creek can help you out with that . I have the AAL's , with no complaints but they do stiffen up the rear a little . I found a shop up here that will make a set for me , for about 250.00 . They also make springs for some after market companies anyway .
dakineJ
Another vote for lift shackles. They will improve your spring travell to. A 2" XJ lift shackle will give an MJ 1" of lift.
jimoshel
A 2X4 between the axle and bottom leaf is about as simple as ya can get. Make it long enough to reach from the back bumper to the front axle it will also help reduce spring wrap up.
