Does anyone have the wheel base for a short wheel base MJ,and while I'm at it maybe the ride height stock? The reason I ask for wheel base I just installed a long arm kit and want to make sure I get the wheel base close when adjusting the arms. Thanks

Can you use a shaft out a NON CAD D30 axle in a CAD D30 axle ?
-
I used Raptor Ive used several on different projects and this one was the best Ive used. But its only been 5 months since I sprayed it in.If you have a compressor buy a cheap undercoat gun it works great, spend the time sanding and cleaning the bed or none of them will stay in.

Does anyone sell a cage kit for the MJ or has anyone built one?

XJ MJ transmission crossmember?
bkdrocks replied to bkdrocks's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Thanks for the help and info! I will post pics as soon as it comes in.On back order for 2 weeks..... -
Is there a difference in the 2 crossmembers? or a difference in the way they are bolted to the frame? Rough country has a long arm upgrade kit for the XJ but say the crossmembers are different and it will not fit an MJ? Any info will be appreciated.

Do you have time to go and show me around,Its easier riding with someone that knows the trails.

Anyone want to make a trip to Windrock in Tennessee? Brian

Ive added front and rear bumpers,a 8k winch, finished the paint, added a lock right locker to the front and locked the CAD in place. It will go just about anywhere I have tried to take it.Gas mileage sucks I still have the 35 in the rear and a Pucky 5spd transmission ,so until it breaks I'm gonna keep running them. I will get the bumper pics and winch pics up some time today.

Spray in bedliner suggestions.
bkdrocks replied to knever3's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Upol Raptor liner ...best spray in liner Ive sprayed..Not as thick and the high dollar liners but very tough, one kit did 2-3 coats and it seems to holding up well.Ive used Dupli color and a couple of other brands ,but this by far is the best -
Oh ok thanks

Someone posted a thread about cutting off the output shaft on a 2wd AX15 and bolting it to a 231.....Does anyone know where it is? I might have dreamed it or something but I read it somewhere.....

Ive tried Advance auto parts,Oreilly's and I can't get the right replacement locks??? Any suggestions
-
Ok I guess this is going to be more trouble than its worth....So I need to concentrait my efforts to an AX15 swap or a Renix era AW4..... Thanks for the help
-
The truck was origanally an automatic, somewhere along the way it was changed to a 5 speed... I would like to have an automatic off road....So I'm considering it. AX15 would be an easier swap ... Shifter gate on the 242 is different? I need to hit the JY and find a donor for the rest of the parts.
-
Will the transmission work?It has a 242 transfer case?I don't know anything about those..... I can get my hands on a TCU but are the plugs on the trans the same and the harness in my MJ???

Need Help with Death wobble
bkdrocks replied to MjAllTheWay's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I had it after I did my lift....I had old tires on it that were worn out and most likely out of balance. New tires,a full set of ball joints(Adjustable uppers) and a good alignment and its gone. Tires made a huge difference,so in my case I would say tire balance mostly,I can't say how bad the ball joints were but I could see how bad the tires leaned in at the top and there was no way to adjust the camber(caster I get confused). But it drives smooth now well worth the money for piece of mind... I think the ball joint set cost me around $200, adjustable uppers and standard lowers.. -
Thanks that helps,Hope I can get it in this weekend. Everybodys going wheeling next weekend so I want to be ready!

Can some one tell me the correct pilot bearing used when swapping an AX15 for a BA10 into a 1988 4.0 Renix motor.. Please!!!! Cross member the same on both transmissions? I guess you figured out I stuck with a manual transmission!!!
-
I need to add between a 1/2 -1 inch to the rear,Whats the easiest way to get this? I have a spring over and 5.5 front springs but I would like a little more rake ?
-
If I get a later model transmission and transfer case can use it ?I would need a TCU from a renix motor? Is this combo possible? Later model autos are easier to find complete, and there a ton of earlier doners for the TCU and all the other parts. Ive found a few AX15 trans here with transfer cases for around 700$ The only reason I'm even considering an auto is the last wheeling trip over half the vehicles were running automatics...I remember when no one ran an automatics. So If I'm going to spend the money and time to change it I only want to do it once...But I still can't decide....
