Striped Tail lights

When I bought my MJ it had a busted tail light, so I went to the JY and got a new tail light, but i didnt notice till later on that one has faded black stripes in the groves and the other doesnt, I want to go with the black striped ones. So what model or years came with or were they after market?

just tape it off and use the krylon fusion spray paint

1986 models only. They came w. the black or chrome stripes, or plain red. But all are no longer available. :cheers:

I just painted mine black last night with some left over black caliper paint. Turned out pretty nice. I will post pics later.

I painted these for my EXP with caliper paint about 10 years ago and they still look pretty good.

I had a pair of mis-matched tail lights too, I just found a donar truck and traded one. I really thought to paint the areas black. Let me see pictures when you get done because I want to see before I do mine!

IIRC He made them out of XJ tail guards...
