Keeping your truck/car clean

I was wondering how many people are like me and just throw junk on the floor until it reaches seat level and how many people keep their vehicles clean. Of course having 3 kids doesnt help any.

I do the same thing, but I promised myself that I would not let that happen in my MJ. Doing pretty good so far :thumbsup:

I'm pretty anal about the garbage but I'm really bad with coats. go to wotk its cold out so i wear a coat or 2, about lunch time it warms up so i take the coat off and put it in the car. when i get home from work i always forget the coat so in the morning a grab another. and the cycle begins.

i detail professionally so my vehicles are always the cleanest around. well..........ok. maybe not. my rigs are the last ones to get cleaned. with 4 kids, they get pretty messy pretty quick. then, there's the dogs. it's not so bad in the suburban since i have built in kennels, but they ride in the cab of the jeep. i will be building a kennel set up for the jeep pretty soon here so they can ride in back.

 

i will say, they get completely shampooed at least twice a year and buffed and waxed 3-4 times at a minimum. i won't take a rig on a road trip unless it's clean. the windows have to be spotless. i'm anal about that when traveling. :D

Like Giffer I find that on any given day I have at least 3 jackets behind my bench seat. I'm pretty good about taking the trash out at every stop, and running a vacuum through her once a month or so. But I'm a smoker, and you can never get all the ash out the window, so thats probably my biggest fault. Plus the blackening headliner above the drivers seat makes me wonder how my lungs are doing. :roll:

behind the seat? i didn't think that counted. i have a ton of stuff behind the seat. there's lots of tools, hand cleaner, fire ext, work gloves, hand winch, and a bunch of other stuff. ;)

I'm looking for the gray 2 door wingback buckets (in the shape of my current seats of course) So far, no luck. Either they are the wrong color, or look like they were pulled from the bottom of a lake.

Excellent interior. Very clean. I will keep an eye out for for grey seats.

 

Your neat and tidy interior makes me sick. The only reason my truck is clean is because I don't drive it and I removed the seat and ripped the carpet out. :yes:

haha thats great. ive got the seat and carpet pulled out right now and its still a mess! i cleaned it out to do the floor and when i was done a through all the carpet and crap back in there untill i make a dump run.

My daily can get pretty bad. Normally I hit it with the vacuum when I go visit my parents. Otherwise I don't. So it can build up pretty bad. That and I have a buddy heater on the floor and a ton of broken tools that I keep meaning to take back. Generally I get in and throw everything on the passenger seat. Then I hit the brakes hard and it winds up on the floor. Then somebody needs a ride and I throw half of it behind the seat.

 

My projects, generally I keep them pretty clean, but that's because I don't drive them.

 

Oh, on my old XJ, I gave it a good douche down before I tried to sell it. I hadn't put the back seat up in about 3 months. And I had a hole in the floor. Woah was there a lot of mold under there. Never smelled it - or I would have done something about it.

I try to keep mine clean, but I like to keep some of the basic wheeling tools in the truck at all times (straps, fire extinguisher, tire deflators, air compressor soon to be replaced with CO2 tank) that makes it hard to keep it organized. I think I might organize it into some bins so it isnt just floating behind the seat though.
