comancheman
does anyone know a p/n on the o-rings for the oil filter adapter housing on a 89 4.0 or where i can get something comparable? TIA, Tim
ren
Yep. Check this out. Help! brand PN 82560 oil adapter and cooler gasket assortment. This is a multi pack, but I paid like $3 and change for it, and it has the "O" rings for the 4.0 up to 1996 in it, along with some others for GM stuff. You can get Help! stuff at just about any decent parts house. If they can get Dorman branfd stuff, then this should be available, also, as Help! stuff is Dorman.I keep 2 sets in the shop.
Geonovast
I never found any at a parts store, I ended up getting one from work. (lots of big machines, they have literally a file cabinet full of every O-ring you could imagine)
BLHTAZ
Most any dealership should have them in stock. I know we always kept them in stock at the one I worked at. There are 3 o-rings you will need and these are the OE part numbers... 33002970 33002971 33002972

BLHTAZ
And........for a little more 'detailed' info - http://www.lunghd.com/Tech_Articles/Eng ... -Rings.htm That site always has a lot of good info, but I found this a bit funny... Update: Posted by tsc on J.U. - "I have a 92 ZJ 4.0 that was a very large allen wrench.... Not all of them were Torx." There is no such thing as a '92 ZJ" (they started in '93) so that would likely be why he has something different :rotf:
88 Beast
The dealer stuff is way over priced, about $15 I think. Go the NAPA route. I work for the CAT dealer here, we got lots of o-rings. Cat is awfully proud of there stuff, still only paid a buck and half.
