maddzz1 Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 Got a call today, and due to my diligent and sleuthlike detective work, the federal inspectors were able to get the video pic and identify the girl who stole and used the cards. She is (soon to be was) a postal employee. They have been waiting to arrest her for 3 days but she has called out sick. If she doesnt show up for her next shift they will be going to arrest her at her house. :clapping:
maddzz1 Posted January 8, 2009 Author Posted January 8, 2009 link to the rest of the story Basically, Some "Scumbag" at the post office sliced open my nephews xmas card and stole the gift cards out. I went to walmart and find out where the cards were used and when and called the postal inspector.
pingpong Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 Good job... shame you had to do the work the Posatl inspector should have done.
Eagle Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 Good job... shame you had to do the work the Posatl inspector should have done. I agree, it's a sad commentary that you had to do the postal service's work for them, but at least you got the ball rolling and they have found the culprit. I don't suppose they're going to invite you to be there when they slap the cuffs on her? That WOULD be sweet.
jtdesigns Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 I want to know if you got the money back...>???
summerinmaine Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 I want to know if you got the money back...>??? I would expect he'd have to wait for court ordered restitution. After all, who else should pay? BTW Good news!!!
mfpdm Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 :clapping: Can't wait to see this as a, Caught on Video episode.

True, but like a lot of law enforcement agencies( the Feds in particular) are very short handed. My dad retired from the US Customs service and have an uncle who is retired( I think) from the Postal Service( Postal Inspector). It's a tough job, dealing with policies and directives from career bureaucrats and self serving political appointees, while trying to catch the bad guys out there. It can be the proverbial " one legged man in an @$$ kicking contest". This concludes this rant  , we now return you to your regularly scheduled thread.
carnuck Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Seems they are all too busy worrying about "Homeland Security" that requires taking away little old ladies knitting needles and giving tickets for "speeding" while drug dealers are making sales 5 feet away from them. (watched 2 dudes make a deal while a cop was raking me over the coals for 5 over. Hope he got the deal on his dash cam and microphone because I kept trying to point it out to the jerk. I'm subpoenaing the tapes for court)
