project88mj Posted January 2, 2009 Author Posted January 2, 2009 so i gain some axle strength no matter what?
Pete M Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 A little bit. But is it worth all the effort and money? Maybe not. For axle swapping, I generally look for a significant improvement in gearing or strength or both.
JACKED88 Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 That is definitely an 8.25 NOT!!! Thats a 35. Take a better look at tha dif pics. The top three and bottom three bolts are in a streight line on a 8.25.
dasbulliwagen Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 None of this really matters anymore, because the original poster no longer has an MJ.
EmJay89 Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 I vote D35, its round... an 8.25 has flat spots
Pete M Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 it's an 8.25. the photo hides the give-away items, but they are there. the relatively flat upper edge of the cover, the rolled lip around the edge of the cover, and the flat spot on the lower edge of the housing (the lip is disguised by some dirt). the original post's photo: An 8.25: A dana 35:
