anyone know any good sites for bumpers that fit on comanches. I'm not sure if I'm going to replace them with stock OEM ones, or upgrade the to something more heavy duty.

If you're looking for front bumpers, the XJ ones are a direct fit. The rear one has to be either MJ specific, or custom made (either the whole bumper, or modifying the bracketry to fit).

JCR Offroad has some very nice bumpers! Their front XJ bumpers bolt right onto MJs and look great.

I talked with them a few weeks ago, and they are planning to offer their rear bumpers for MJs near the end of this year, or early next year. They are working on getting a plasma table set up to cut out the MJ brackets.

I plan to wait until next spring and order a matched set.

Those should work fine. They are a generic truck bumper and should come with the adapter brackets to mate to your stock brackets. I just noticed that the bumper is $144, but the bumper with the adapters is $194.

I have an '88 Comanche, a previous owner replaced the rear bumper with a 2x6. At least they painted it black!

Anyway, in looking for a replacement, I found the following websites with bumpers:

http://www.autopartswarehouse.com

http://www.carpartswholesale.com

http://www.partstrain.com

I haven't purchased/installed one yet so I can't verify anything about these sources or products.

Wish you would have gotten ahold of me this summer. You might have even been able to come pick it up when I was done...
