  1. i fixed mine simply by replacing the rear shocks, i think mine is the only one that was that easy though....... Erik :beerhead:
  2. , little lift and a racer back and it would be perfect! Erik
  3. Yeah, eventually we will get another boxer, thats all ive ever had and that all we want. that wouldnt happen to be Dawn that you know in the boxer rescue, would it Diane? when i was younger we were a halfway home for boxers with the rescue, in fact, two of my previous boxers we ended up keeping before anyone could adopt them, chances are thats where we will go. Joe man, thats awful kind of you to offer more for that part, but its not neccasary. the offer alone is more than enough. Erik
  4. You met your wife in 1811? How old are you, like 300? :D Don't mind me, I have a lot running through my head right now, and am a lil  . guess i walked into that one huh?i guess i better squash this one in case there are any aspiring resident smart@$$es with an idea. 1811=18 november......smart@$$! :beerhead:
  5. mine is just my last name and my initials, then the day my wife and i met. its universal and easy to remember. if i mat quote jtdesigns..K.I.S.S
  6. Today, after 5 1/2 years of life, we had to put my dog down. Ka-Bar was my fourth boxer, but my wifes first dog. He was the one that kept her company while i was on many a deployments. He was suffering of a massive kidney infection that could not be reversed. He will certainly be missed  Erik

    BEERFEST?

anyone in or around PA headed to beerfest in april?
  8. People don't stare at mine, they wait until i get out then say say" Whoa! jeep made a truck?!?!" or " cool, i never saw anyone put a dakota box on a cherokee before"
  9. well, i think I'm just going to keep the dang think and save up for exactly what i want since noone wants to buy it. i guess i'll deal with the crappy gutless 2.8 for now. i did do a tune up and noticed a big difference, I'm still going to see if someone here is parting out an 86 and get that carb and rebuild it because my choke sticks a little bit and replace the bladder on the egr valve, not going to overhaul the thing since its pretty apperant that i would be wasting time and money.BTW, anyone have any ideas on an intermittant no stop light. its not the fuse and my hazards still work, just every so often my stop lights don't work for a week or so, then they just do. i havent looked into it too much yet, but any info would be nice. Erik
  10. am i the only one that fixed DW by replacing shocks?
  11. so lets see, that aftermarket carb, regear, cross my fingers and..ya know what, hey pat, how bout you give me a grand and you can do whatever you want to it! i know i know, too far. so pretty much...I'm screwed until i can save up for a better manche. man, that sucks. is it hard to regear? what about a FI conversion, i know some of the 2.8's in other cars had FI, maybe i could rip that off. Yeah djag12, even driving on 315 i try to let people pass me before i come to an incline, I'm sure it doesnt help much being an automatic either Erik
  12. actually no, I'm kindof a noob so I'm still learning. i doubt its 4:10 though. just in case its not, what would one have to pay for a fancy 35 with 4:10 shipped about 600 miles?
  13. are you putting the 88 on the road?
  14. geez, the last time i was in NC i was picking up my discharge papers. well, at 55 mph speeds and only slight grades, would 4:10 be the best choice? just pretend for a min you werent selling a 4:10 :brows:
  15. geez, when i fried my ignition switch my truck would just shut off at random, of course this happend hours from home and i was forced to leap frog all the way back.
  16. Change the gears? would that help?
  17. Ahhh yes, the good ole weak @$$ 2.8 question. Now i completley understand that these fine examples of internal combustion  were...slightley....underpowerd. However since i have no basis for comparison as mine is the only 2.8 i have ever driven, i have to assume that ALL 2.8's are as weak as mine and just hope that I'm wrong. On to the question. Aside from the obvious engine swap or buy a newer MJ :shake: , how can i get my MJ to be highway worthy , I'm not looking to race the darn thing or smoke my tires, i just want to be able to at least maintain my speed when i hit a hill on the highway, its really sad that within 10 seconds i go from 55 to 25 :wall: . In the very near future i plan to rebuild the carb, replace the EGR valve and get my hands on a really good electrical schematic and a vaccume line diagram to double check everything :wrench: . is there ANYTHING, like i said aside from the obvious, that i can do here? :dunno: Erik :beerhead:
  18. awsome movie.
  19. and a happy one to you as well, figures your from PA
  20. nah, I'm a UFC fan, not so much boxing.
  21. there is still a couple xj's in use in my area, local cops.
  22. getting speeding tickets with that rig would be only a far off dream, never to be achieved. You must have never met a NC State Trooper.......... i met the NC state trooper that drives a camaro. good thing i didnt try to get away.
  23. hey jeepco, talk to onebigmj, i sold him my 88 and it had those brackets of which you speak, maybe he can rip them off for you.
