  1. Dual gear reduction at the axle, is too slow. I also want the truck to haul @$$ and get places, not guzzle fuel like a drunk guy at the end of the bar.
  2. Maybe I should become a roller coaster engineer.... Have some CRAZY coasters, guaranteed to have you walking in a zig-zag patter for the next 15 mins.... :D
  3. Exactly how I would build one, but maybe about 2" more in front of the rear wheels for the bed. That one looks GOOD.
  4. http://www.tenneco.com/products/ridecontrol/index.html Check out the shock companies they own. All the big names. Just go for some from napa or advance.
  5. I wouldn't buy either, Well, Maybe the International version, but I'd take the MXT, it looks like a mad, aggressive truck. I want an all original vehicle, I hate being like everyone else. Not to mention, building it how you want, makes it most economical for your uses for it. Being that my truck would have a tractor trailer axle out back, and something furious up front for 4wd, it will pull whatever I want it to, and not break. Probably over 50 tons of stuff on a trailer. That's a lot of MJ's! :D
  6. Only 10 days to go for me, till my MJ will be done, But, I don't have the funds to make it to Badlands, let alone, Bradford, PA. I'll be using my sister's gas in her WJ to get there, and fill the mj with as much as I can afford...

    oh i wish...

Ive seen it 5 times in person. I beleive theres a fleet of 10-15. It must suck to be the driver of that thing. The looks of all the people driving on the freeway, giving you dirty looks....
  9. The drivetrain is all bolted together. All, hanging from the engine hoist, in front of the MJ. I have most of the under hood electrical completed (worked till like 11:15pm tonight on it). Tomorrow, I have to weld my tranny shifter on, the stud snapped at the start of the threads. I am also going to double check all the nuts and bolts for being nice and tourqed down. About 2hrs worth of work tomorrow, and the drivetrain will be in, all bolted up, and then, it will be time to do any brackets in the interior to mount the dash to. I'll, do floorboards when I'm mounting the brackets too, then I only will have the welder out once. I am also making custom brackets to mount the new seats to, so they will be really nice when done. They will utilize the 97+ seat mounts for a factory fit. I'll get some pics tomorrow, if I remember...

Damn straight! Good thing you didn't get a weiner, Jared... You even know whats packed in thise slippery things these days???
  11. FukNuts Offroad sells some aftermarket ones, but I do not reccommend buying, or even talking to them.
  12. Sorry for being a post lady of the night... :D
  13. Made use of this quote on my local forum already! :D
  14. I'd say short bed with 6-8" cut off the front of the bed to keep the wheelbase more proportional to the track width. It would look very good like that.
  15. Currently, the transmission and transfer case are caloding to become one monster of a storm. Coming up, the forcast calls for engines raining into bays this afternoon, and tranny/tcase combos sliding in, finishng the day out with an electrcal storm over the bay.
  16. Tip: Look in the current issue of CRAWL. That's what I'm doing. But I'm not mentioning what was done here, I want my MJ to stay unique... :D
  17. I should have thought of this... My 98 ZJ had some issues earlier this year, but it would at least run really rough, I wasnt able to figure it out, my mom's mechanic was surprised it even ran. Turned up my CPS was half eaten by the flywheel...
  18. Does someone local to you have an ECU of the same or similar year that you can borrow to test? Thats the only thing I can think of, but I've been wrong before...
  19. Around here, the Fords seem to dominate all the Bow Ties, and Rams. Also, are some of you basing your answers on what other's have told you? My views are from first hand experience.
  20. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, however, I never mentioned the ride quality, only the looks/comfort, from a stand still perspective. Although, I find Fords are middle of the road for ride quality, My dad's GMC seems to be top notch for a smooth ride, and Dodge is inferior to both when it comes to hitting the NY potholes.
  21. Well, to be honest, my step brother has a 98 Dodge 3500 or whatever (gas one, but even still) and the interior comfort leave a bit to be desired, looks and comfort. Outside, I don't like the Dodge's styling, looks like a overweight pig that feeds on lard all day. My dad has a 2006 Chevy 1500, and although it looks fairly nice, again it leaves alot to be desired in comfort and a bit in looks inside, although, not as bad. The 98.5-06 Ford F250-550, A few buddies have them, and interior aesthetics and comfort are top notch, nothing overlooked in my opinion, and everything the driver needs to mess with and touch is within a short reach, making it the most desirable. I also used to drive a commercial F450 for my old work as few years back, one with a PowerStroke, and I never had a problem with the PowerStroke (it was a 99 with the 7.3L). There was also an 01 F350 with the triton V10 which always had problems. But the interior comfort was still pretty good considering it had a bench, the 99 had buckets, and far exceeded the bench.
  22. Did I not say, mine will not be anything ford beyond the body? It would be custom built from the ground up. :D
  23. Watch out, he'll report you to the internet for mocking him that he'll report you to the internet for making fun of his death trap... In other news, I was in FL yesterday and today. Around the corner, I saw a nicely built CJ-7 had some nice stuff, all suspension, no body lift, about 5" of lift, 33's, bushwhackers, nice soft top, clean brown pain, absolutely no rust, nice rims too, and clearly 44's front and rear. It was however suffering from the steering issues. Had the squiggly drag link, and the steering stuff looked kind of wimpy. It did look like the front end was being worked on though (tool chest near the front of the truck) so maybe he was going to fix that. It was raining when I went by, otherwise, I would have stopped.
  24. Wow, going coil over on the XJ, now that's a write up I'd like to see, and maybe possibly down the road take ideas from. Hmm....... I happen to have some coil buckets laying around... Maybe I might do this to the MJ in a few months for a winter project...
  25. Yea, supposedly it's a perfect fit. I think theres another one on cardomain as well with one, but i can't remember.
