  1. the clip for the speedometer is gone. can i replace it or can i get the clip? from where? if not, what years can i look at, mainly xj's here. thanks :typing:
  2. kevins isn't cheap, but i could totally adjust out the bump steer. and it is beefie.
  3. i am looking for a 91 radiator, an 97 xj doors. the cost here is $525.00 for all. could i buy a 97 or newer xj and get them. yes. how new could i go? i'm looking for a range of years.
  4. do you mean sway bar? i have a couple front ones
  5. i remember that circuit was connected to some other one, but ? to which one. i put a new fuse in it again, gas gauge screwed up again, so we cleaned the tongs then made sure we had a good connection. has worked ok since. the wires coming from the engine compartment through the firewall[ fuse holder] is pita, so check that. some crap might be hanging down an shorting out.
  6. i had the same problem, it ended up being the fuse in the fuse holder. if its good , slide it in and out a few times.
  7. try magnacor.com for wires. go to apex performance to buy them. they are great wires.
  8. i'm going to look at my valve tomorrow, curious now how it hooks up and where they all go. :chillin:
  9. i got air in my master cylinder. once i knew that i could of, i just kept bleeding them. takes a while for the air to work itself out.
  10. my two cents. when i was down in baja last, the baldwins had us pull over. they needed a tape measure to check their toe in. while waiting for them to finish i looked inside their prerunner. mind you i was in a stripped down , totally naked xj. the inside of this 600 hp, 30 in wheel travel with 37 in tires was showroom bring, bling. i decided right there to be as comfortable as possible. cupholders and all. granted i don't have $100,000 grand to drop in like them, but within reason for me. anyway, my 2 cents.
  11. 1/4 in, 5/16, 3/8. whatever is available. rock climbing i would make something stronger, but for buggy racing or in my case, prerunning it works great, and is light weight. 8)
  12. on the buggies we use thin alumium sheet. we go to the steel junk yard and find 4x8 or 4x10 sheets. bend it up, good to go.
  13. ya i know dino's site, thanks, also go jeep is good. eagle- i went to gibsons site and listened to the muffler. good sound. when i replace cracked exhaust i'll change pipe and muffler with their's.
  14. since i bought this jeep three mos ago, all i've done to the motor is spark plugs, and magnacor wires. then i pulled the air cleaner off, and stickie and gummie it was. checked the tps and idle control , same mess. cleaned well and mpg went to middle 14s. but my mileage has been in the middle 14 's- so i found out the oxygen sensor was shorting so it was in closed loop all the time. someone broke the pin for the temperature sensor so i replaced that also. my idle went to 1500, so i adjusted it to 850. everything helped, but stepping on the gas accelleration was bad. so i took the exhaust system off and looked in the cat. hooray for big pry bars. put it all back , what a difference. idle speed was bouncing around before i did the cat, but after driving few miles, stopping and cooling it down, started it up idle was great. between here and naxja forums, i learned a lot. had no experience with i-6. i'm going to check the tps voltages and adjust if necessary. i have the cracked exhaust, must fix{ $} going to drive it on the freeway 75 mph for fifty miles to clean it out, then i'll check mileage and live with it. anyway, i had no idea that cleaning out the cat would make such a big difference. :brows:
  15. pics of mine[/img][/img]
  16. buy all means post the write up an pics.
  17. i'm using #2 from negative battery to frame . #2 from positive to starter. # 2 from engine to ground. #6 wire from alternator to battery. some kind of fuse my mechanic says to use in the alt to batt wire. i just was at my mechanics, they both said, don't use any fuse on that circuit. you would be screwed if it went when your off road. you rarely have a cable go bad. better to , like i'm going to do, slide the cable down water hose, and clamp it every 12 in to the frame.
  18. thanks
