  1. thanks for the info. it really helped. i put a hydroboost on my mj. i took it all apart and didn't get back to it for a while. with seven lines to hook up i crossed one up. nine including the cooler. could not figure what i did wrong. i also got lots of help from grant at psc, where i bought the beefed up pump. if any one installs one, i can save them lots of grief.
  2. a need a picture of the lines from the steering box, power steering unit including the reservior. CAN ANY BODY HELP???????????????????? long story, but i think i crossed a line. haha
  3. :driving: WELCOME
  4. thanks for the info. with the hood up the latch works fine. the drivers side latch, not on hood ,looked like it moved so i moved it where i thought it should be. it worked easier. i sprayed everything with pb blaster. going to use some cold temperature lithium based grease. its called ' lubriplate aero'. iso 9001. i wonder why they didn't use 6 or even ten more latches. i could have them across the whole front end.
  5. my hood release is sticking more and more. before i look at everything, has anyone found causes for this to happen with eventually something breaking?

  12. i was hunting jerkiness on accelation? should of paid attention to spelling and not the girls. not! i couldn't get to the low or high adjustments with the tps. was told the dealer parts were better. i had bought a aftermarket tps, so i compared it to the dealer one. the wires were a much better grade. as i have said before on this forum, will only buy sensors from the dealer. buy the way, i paid $14.00 less from the dealer. i have replaced all the sensors now. i have one stumble on hard accelation, sometimes. still looking for cause. 8)
  13. buy the tps at the dealer. the wires are bett :D er and it solved my problem
  14. yes it is.
  15. i answered a ? in the past about hydroboosters. here is a couple of pics of minehttp:// :D http:// here are two pics of it installed. i had to have lines made, along with some new tubing. should of made the lines longer so i could move them even more than i did. one pic shows the filter. you can just see the line running from the cooler in front of the rad. according to cary, the guy who makes my setup, and many other ones, only the 2500 works. aerostar doesn't. the problem is matching the demands of the system with the jeep power steering pump. the 2500 fits the bill. cost for the 2500 ranges from $40.00 to $100.00. depends on your jy. hope this helps. he told me be careful when applying the brakes. man he wasn't kidding. with 33's it stops like my old race car. :chillin:
  16. i run 33's with 4:10's with ax15. i have good punch in all the gears. in 5th i think i would like a touch more overdrive, but still thinking about it.
  17. I PUT CHAMPIONS IN, HAD A MISFIRE, TOOK THEM OUT, PUT IN NGK'S, RUNS GREAT. MY MECHANIC SAYS HE HAS MORE PROBLEMS WITH BAD CHAMPIONS THEN ANY THING ELSE, SO HE DOES'NT USE THEM ANY MORE. :chillin:
  18. anyone know where i can get a beefed up rear spring shackle, that provides a stock lift?
  19. there is a process. he modified the hb to work with my mj. made new lines. put a filter and cooler in the lines. seems to work with my power steering pump. sometimes they don't. so use a dodge one. on the proportioning valve, the rear one didn't work, so with dana 44's front and rear, 410 gears, and 33 in tires, he said don't worry about it. i had to change some of the fitting, flare them, and bingo, bango its done. its a cheaper setup them the ones offered on the net. i would have to go through my receipts, but it cheaper.
  20. i replaced my cps with a after market one for $55.00 including freight from rock auto. they sent me two, and charged me for two. when i told them, they would only refund the money, not the freight. i was charged twice on freight. enough said. turns out i had a problem with it. intermittent acceleration. my mechanic said he had this problem before, i changed to a factory one, as he did, problem went away. i checked the difference between them. better wiring on the factory one. dealer cost for cps $44.00 no freight. learn from my problem. now if i need sensors, only factory ones.
  21. i put one on my mj. dana 44's with 33 in tires. now it stops like my wheels are 8 in's round. i got rid of the rear brake crap and my proportioning valve. i have the same power steering pump. it came off a 2500 chev with a new :D chev master cylinder.
  22. thanks a lot. it helps with ordering the right parts :D
  23. i have a 1988 mj with i6 motor. i was told the motor has been replaced. here is the engine id number: 903mx17. can anyone read it for me.
  24. i run my sway bar on road and quick disconnects off road. running w/o sway bar/ sudden avoidance means wreck. i drive 50 to 60 milesperhour off road and enjoy the extra movement, but on road no thanks :D
