I thought I saw a thread about this but could not find it. Is the MJ in JP Sept issue a club members? :dunno: Very clean looking MJ.

Well you know the old saying, "I want my kid to have more than I had" or something like that. I plan on getting another one for me someday, so I'll make all the mistakes with his first. :brows:

Thanks for the support. Time line right now has us finishing in December. True, however we will be swapping axles from the donor XJ, so this will be a good as time as any. Had a friend pick me up a hood on his was to DC yesterday. From the cab. Wanted to get a feel of the look. I think it is a Reflexxion hood, but I can't find any markings to ID it. It's all steel and in very good shape.

Yeah I know, but I thought this way, I left a easy way to steer it. Once it's at the paint shop, the steering box, axles and suspension will be coming off.

Well it's been awhile, but finally made the next chapter in Wrenches Gone Wild. The Wet T-shirt Edition. Took the bed off Started pressure washing the goop out of the engine compartment and frame. Undercoating is coming off pretty good so far. Getting the rest of that darn plastic off the doors. Will continue tomorrow with the pressure washer. Going to try and get the rest of the crud off. Hopefully get it to the paint shop this week. Sorry no pic's of the wet T-shirt but I was behind the camera. :nanner:

I learn a lot from my time in the scouts. Went from cubs all the way up to working on Eagle were I strayed from the path due to girls and partying. Ended up in Explorers were girls and partying got me kicked out. Go figure. Tried to get the boy into it when we live in San Diego but his interest was low and they had some very recent bad incidents with some wacko's so I let him stay with sports instead. Still think scouting is a good thing for kid's and will one day volunteer to be a part of it again.

Driveshaft lenghts - 2wd and 4wd SWB MJ
mfpdm replied to Kenosha Warrior's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Any and all measurements are welcome. Would like to get all the different lengths with all the different engine/tranny/tcase/axle combinations. So far this is what has been posted: 4.0/ba10/2wd/D35 d-shaft for a SWB is 53" 2wd, 2.5L, AX4, D35 is 58.5" SWB 4.0L/AX-15/4wd/dana35 is 43.5" (Is this short / long bed and need to know tcase) I'm pretty sure that with all the members on here, we could have all the factory combo's represented. -

Dug this up because I'm in need of the same info and it looks like this did not get fully answered. I'm looking at getting a rear DS from a 4wd BA10 SWB and I need to know the lenght of the rear DS for a 4.0 4wd AW4 D35 and/or D44. Maybe if we could get all the DS combo's answered we could make this a sticky. -
Thought about ya at the JY today when I came across a black steering column and wheel. I also found a D44 in an XJ but the guy wanted more than twice the price of my regular pick and pull. It was $250 which wasn't too bad but if I'm patient, I'll have one for cheaper. Didn't dare ask how much for the wheel. Hope you got one already.

Once you buy the manche, you could buy this to haul it to the trails. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... 38539&rd=1 Paint is kinda the same :D

I'm up for a tan/khaki hat. What about coozie colors? Would they all be the same color as well?

The question I have is who would trade this in? And the dealership must not know what they have to only name the name brand stuff that pops out at you. If this was built for racing, were's the list of performance parts? I like the look regardless of the lack of info.
-
Like I've told you before, you find the greatest stuff. Been looking for an original bed mat. I like the look of the tire carrier, what it come off?

That's what this forum is about right. To help, inspire, share ideas and chat with fellow jeepers without the worry of getting flamed. When my MJ is done, the ideas and suggestions of a lot of people from this board will be in there. :brows: Mike, the two tone looks great. Was looking at going that route but the son has different plans.  -
Aloha MJ is looking good and that XJ  Very Sweet. Like the lemon and lime idea. :D I use to travel out there quite often but changed jobs so no more. Still have some friends out there. Took me forever to learn how to say the state fish name, Humuhumunukunukuapua'a. :D Anyway, Welcome to the club

Here's a link to some videos about the coaster. The media day one is pretty funny. I'm a pass holder but haven't made it up there yet. Hopefully in a couple of weeks. I tricked my wife to ride Apollo's chariot but won't get her on the Griffon. http://www.griffoncoaster.com/

So if you add up all the cost of parts in this thing, what do you think, umm lets say maybe $5k which most would be for the tub. I mean most of it could be had at the junk yard. So that leaves $13900 as labor and fab work? :rotf: Dang, I thought the dealership was bad. :deal: With all that resto work you think he could of at least put in an old factory radio to fill the hole in the dash. :thwak:

I picked up one of those for cheap (free) . The nozzle is busted but I think I can get a replacement at HF. What media are you using and are you doing it outside or in the shop? Oh yeah, the manche is looking good. I wish I had the time and energy to work on mine. It's kinda in a holding pattern right now.

:rotfl2: Moma said, "Ebay is the Devil"

 Wow, nice catch. All my fish stories begin with, "you should have seen the one that got away" :brows:

That's why I sort my favorite searches by newly listed. That way you only have to see what was posted that day and not have to wade through all the crap again.

Was at the jy yesterday and they just brought out a 99 which got t-bone after the front passenger door. I took the mirrors and considered the front clip conversion. I was even thinking of doing the motor and interior/dash swap. It was very clean inside and out. :brows: Can that be said with kid's in the room :D
-
Accomplished: Went to JY and found a set of 99 XJ mirrors for the MJ plus the interior door handle with power from a 2dr XJ. Also cleared and cleaned alot of the garage so I can get more work done to the MJ. Procrastinated: Pulling the rest of the parts of the MJ to get it ready for paint. Swapping the axles and t-case in the TJ. Yardwork
