  1. According to my Mitchells repair manual that is Flash to Pass and was for the 91-92's only. Has nothing for the 86-90.
  2. I remember that guy. He was selling the truck and trailer together. Both were oylmpic editions. He also had built anotherone for a guy that ended up not paying or something like that. I think I remember him signing up here. Found the thread however the pic's are long gone from craigslist. viewtopic.php?f=4&t=12361
  3. I couldn't tell neither with the reflection coming off it. :D But seeing those two holes close together in the second picture makes me think rear as well. And yeah, X2 on him being a first class guy. Ive bought from him as well. I think it was my NOS ten slot grille, but I'd have to check the paper work as it was a couple of years ago. I always check out his listing as I have him down in my favorites.
  4. This might belong in the classifieds but I figure it might get better exposure here. If it's a different color, than it's a link. REDROCK 4X4 is having a pretty decent clearance sale. I've always had great luck with them and usually can't find lower prices when you factor in their free shipping. A few items of interest on EBay, AEV Hood for TJ NOS long center console (TAN) 241OR T-Case And for Don,(no offense) NOS chrome front bumper
  5. I know everyone wants to have that one of a kind ride but somethings just don't go together. Ebay Link :ack:
  6. Yea, I was thinking a re-paint which would make me wonder if it had been wrecked before but if they went to all the trouble of painting the sides, I'd figure they would have painted the tailgate and removed the sticker as well. :dunno: I also wondered why they didn't take a pic of the engine compartment. Anyone close that can do a drive by on it? Far as the VIN saying it was an olmpic edition, I've never seen one that did. Heck the only thing that even makes one is the stickers. Vin on this one does check out as the pioneer which is the small tag under the Comanche badge on the sides. If it is as good as they say, the price on the window is pretty fair. However I think cash in hand would get it a little cheaper.
  7. an olypic edition without the strips down the side? Either way this is a nice one. Click here for ebay listing
  8. That's the one I have electronically. I can't remember the thread on here that linked to it but if anyone needs it, I can email it to them or if someone has the thread and can post the link that would be best. That book is great and your right it does point out some cherokee stuff, however the main thing I need is the pinouts for the cherokee specific stuff. I'm going to be using some of that stuff for some gadgets so I need as much info that I can get. I'm probably getting the 88 one but I'm waiting on some additional data from the seller. I'll scan that one somewhere in the future and offer it up too.
  9. So now you have me thinking that I may be looking for the wrong one. From my searches, I thought all Electrical Troubleshooting manuals in the 60 series were for the comanche and the 70 series is for the cherokee. Is this right or is there a 60 and 70 series for both. :dunno: It also seems that the ones I've seen are broken down into 87-88 with 89 falling into the next group. This kind of makes me think they changed things a little. I know using the general 88 FSM, I've had problems with different wire colors. I have the one for the 88 comanche that I picked up from someone on here in pdf format. It's been scanned in and I can't make out the series number on it. Thanks but what I'm after would be a lot of trouble if you haven't already scanned it. Basically, what I'm doing is putting together a DIY with color codes, connector #'s, and pictures for using a cherokee engine and dash harness with the comanche cab and rear harness. The troubleshooting manual is without a doubt the best thing for this. It took me about 30 minutes to have all of the wires and connectors labeled and pinned out for the comanche harness using it's manual. Yes I could have traced them all out but for the cherokee dash harness that's a little impractical and a PITA. Right now I'm waiting to hear back from a guy that has the 88 one and I hope he doesn't want to much for it. :redX:
  10. I'm trying to find a link or electronic copy of the electrical troubleshooting manual for an 1989 cherokee. Looks like below with the exception of having 1989 on it. I guess maybe one in the same era would work, but they always seem to change a wire color here and there. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1986-Jee ... .m20.l1116 I have the FSM so don't bother with that. The above manual is what I really need. Thanks for any help.
  11. Yea, wouldn't work for the 87 but I wonder if it would work for the later idea. Afterall the rule doesn't say that it has to be registered to the same person, only that it was continuously registered and insured for a full year. :dunno: I'm sure I'd lose this arguement at the dealership.
  12. Thought about getting the 87 I'm going to part out running so I could take advantage of this seeing how it's going to the scrap yard anyway. Only bad thing is that the 4 bangers don't qualify for this as they get the est. 19 mpg cut off. If I was really needing a new car right now, I'd search craigslist for a clunker in the old ford or chevy flavor for a couple of hundred and do it that way. You help out the person selling the vehicle and make out at the dealership when you trade it in for $10k :D .
  13. The time to cry about this was a few months ago when the bill wasn't passed yet. Day late and a dollar short now. Watched an interview yesterday on CNN  , with one of the jokers in DC that was trying to explain how great this was. He has defintely drank the cool aid and couldn't be persuaded that this was dumb. The bill was passed in the hopes that 250,000 new cars would be sold under this plan before it ends this fall. Right now they estimated only 50,000 have been sold. I'll bet they extend it. Local dealers here are offering double the amount on select models. Great deal if you are in the market or have to have a new car. There is one thing about all this besides the lost of some nice vehicles. This program is being paid for by your tax dollars. And since the price varies, I averaged the cost at 4K, then multiplied that by thier planned 250,000. Yeah, thats one billion dollars on top of how much that the government has paid out to the failing auto companys? But wait, I would take a good guess that a lot of that is going to non-US auto makers. It's hard to believe that this great nation is in debt to other countries around the world because of these bright ideas. :shake:
  14. I made the mistake of not measuring and going with what I thought I figured out from the FSM. Bought what I thought should be on my 88 only to return them when they didn't fit. Easy way to measure if you don't have a micrometer is to use an adjustable wrench. Close it down on the sway bar as tight as you can, slide it off, then measure the open gap of the wrench with a tape measurer.
  15. Holy crap I thought I was in trouble. :fool: They look great and your very welcome. I'm always glad to help a fellow member out. I've got the same set in the 86 and with the mini console, getting behind the seat is really no big deal. I still owe you a little something so the next set of black female end seat belts I find, I'll send them your way, so you can get rid of those floppy bench ones. This inspires me to finish the black interior swap on the Mild build.
  16. Well, good news for me. My glass guy was able to pull the window with the rubber in almost perfect condition out of the Mild build. He pulled the rubber off the window and cleaned it up prior to re-installing it into the Wild build. Could of used a different piece of glass if I wanted to with the rubber. After watching the whole thing it kind of makes since how it all works. The rubber is more or less just protection for the edges of the window and for looks. The black goo seals the window to the truck. It does however in the process, get on the rubber which makes it a pain to get off in one piece.
  17. I wish there was a replacement to be found. Unless one is on someones shelf collecting dust, there is none left. I called on the last one in the dealerships computer only to have the guy say, yes he had it but, it was ordered for a customer that was on his way to pick it up. No aftermarket support with the exception of sliders which don't use the stock gasket. Thanks for the inputs. We'll find out here today what can be done with what I have. I'm hoping for the best.
  18. Just had to tighten mine. Was making a lot of popping and creeking. Now it's all better. :D
  19. Has anyone re-used a rear window gasket on a different piece of glass? My glass guy told me today that the gasket was molded and could not be pulled off one piece of glass and put on another. I know the gasket was sold separately when it was in stock but not sure that once it is on that it can not be removed to put on another window. :dunno: I know this is taking in account that you can get it out of the truck in good condition.
  20. History behind the picture
  21. Was wondering if you were going to leave the prop struts on or not. I was thinking maybe I could mod the passenger side so it wouldn't hit but haven't got that far in my life yet. Maybe cut the wiper post down a little or add a spacer on the backside so it sets lower. :dunno: I've got a few spares laying around to play with and will be sure to post up anything that I get to work. Looks Great.
  22. I went with the drop brackets because I was more concerned with street drivability than offroad capability. We haven't put all the time, effort, and cash into the build to make it a trail rig to abuse. I've got a TJ and future MJ builds for that. It's a mall crawler DD with street manors and limited offroad, if any, use. I went with RROs because I like the design and the fact that it had a brace made for the MJ. I researched the different DBs and read just like anyone else out there about the different problems they had with different brands, but could not find a whole lot about RROs DBs with MJs. I also knew RRO had a bad rep and thought I'd still give them a try. I still don't have facts on how they perform as the build is not left the garage. Only facts I have is on the install and dealing with RRO which I stated before.
  23. OMG It amazes me how many opinions are on this thread but not too much actual experience with the products or venders in question. Do your research. Make a decision. And go from there. If you wait for someone to make up your mind, you'll never get anywhere. Remember, opinions are like @ssholes. Everyone has one and they are sure to post it on the internet. And for the record, blue is better than green and don't buy from the hat rack in the corner.
  24. :D I thought maybe you were trying to get us to figure out what course the papers are from. I guess political science.
