Fiat, Dodge, Ram, Chrysler are the worst cars in America....again
JeepcoMJ replied to Incommando's topic in The Pub
Bull $#!&. The 2.8 is a great motor. It has a bad rap from neglect by owners in changing timing belts on schedule, and all the liberal emissions morons. That motor has zero issues overseas. And overseas, it has no egr. Here, they have an egr...and that ultimately leads to soot in the oil and damaged valvetrain. You need to keep to what you know. This whole thread is hilarious. -
It will be walker nominated...it won't be ryan, he is going to be nice and comfy ranked roughly 3rd in DC
-
That about sums it up. We need to be a place where differences in opinion are ok; where they don't result in petty violence, campain ads that are not only lies, but are negative as heck, and where the congress and senate can have a reasonable conversation without shutting down, or blocking the current (at any particular moment) minority from being effective in any way
-
Looks like the nation, has, as a whole, rejected everything done in the last 6 years. Without getting too political... Hopefully with Reid out, we can undue his filibuster blocking and get it back to a point where all members of all parties can work together, instead of the majority blocking the minority from being able to catalyze change...and we should at least have a speaker who isn't abusing his power to protect a failing president from scandals that make watergate look like child's play. "Can't we all just get along?" Seriously...it should not be one extreme, followed by unhappy constituents, who switch to another extreme. These selfish criminals in office (on both sides) have removed balance from the system. All they do is check each other...it is like watching a hockey brawl.

Cornwell is still in, and I know nothing of any "sucky" stuff by them. Never had a problem with any of my tools from them. Well, the 1/2" impact was rebuilt once....after taking a bazillion 1-5/16" semi truck lug nuts off, and those things are torqued very very tight

Rough Country Long Arm Install
JeepcoMJ replied to joester1908's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I have NOTHING seen any "end all" issues with RC They have covered any problems I have ever had. They had a bad run on shock bushings...at the same time every other manufacturer did, because the company who makes them made a bad batch. Same happened with poly ca bushings at one point. Same happened with their flex bushings at one point. Never has someone I know of, myself included, had a bad RC customer experience. Maybe you guys should take into account that the one guy on cf, Naxja, etc. is probably impossible to please or work with on the phone...and got bad customer service for being a bad customer. Don't talk if you haven't experienced it. And if you have, then I'm sorry you had that experience...but RC stands by their warranty, so you might try being less "righteous" when you call to get a problem resolved. -
94 YJ 4 banger in a 89 MJ
JeepcoMJ replied to foreman1063's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
You need a complete xj dash and engine harness to do the swap...the yj harness is too short in some places, too long in others, and cannot be made to work with the mj cluster from a renix. -
L.O.L. Yeah, my votes are all for the minority represented in this government...which is NOT the majority of America. I cannot believe how downhill this country has gone.

I have broke more crapsman ratchets then the Pittsburgh Professional brand. Lifetime warranty on them too. My biggest complaint is not being able to exchange one extension or adapter, you have to get the kit...!! Love the ballpoint press too! No electric type tools.. Saws, drills, grinders etc for me from there! I do not touch anything crapsman except wrenches and 1/4" sockets/extensions. You could not pay me to use crapsman ratchets...I break the 3/8" and 1/2" every time, and bust knuckles over it. For anything but the above mentioned, including air tools, I have Cornwell. Electric I run only Milwaukee, you couldn't pay me to run dewalt. Makita, maybe...but not for the price.

Nothing wrong with harbor freight stuff. Wrenches, ratchets, sockets, and impacts.. no. But everything else is great. I have a hf air over hydraulic 8 ton ram on my ancient 10 ton picker. Works awesome. Blast cabinet.. has made my business absurd amounts of $ Love their aluminum jacks. won't crawl under a car without jack stands tho.

2.1 L turbo boost gauge
JeepcoMJ replied to Babyblack86's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Vacuum direct from turbo area...pain in the butt. -
Also, the heat box from an xJ solves the issue...if you use the plastic heat tube that goes with it.

...they're not even the same seats lol. Add a center console...heaven.

86 2.8l ax5 to 95 3.4l / 94+ ax15
JeepcoMJ replied to Kano808's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Toss a dakota 2.5 clutch in with that bell, then. The 3.8 pressure plate fits the jeep ax15 -

JeepcoMJ replied to Kano808's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
All you need is a 4.0 sending unit and to wire the positive in for the pump. I don't like the frame mounted ones very much...even the quiet ones resonate noise to the cab -

JeepcoMJ replied to Kano808's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I fail to see the need to go to an ax15...the 3.4 isn't going to roast the ax5. The camaro 3.8 clutch disc I used was fit directly to an ax15 that I was going to swap in. Considering that it used the same part number trans as the 3.4 t5s, safe assumption that you won't have an issue. Also, if you are keeping the jeep carb system...you may as well quit while you are ahead. If you want to stay carb, look for a 4bbl intake for the 60 degree engines and a Holley 390cfm carb. -

JeepcoMJ replied to Kano808's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
.... You need nothing for aftermarket parts. At worst...at absolute worst....you use all the camaro parts and have to fab a new fork for the throwout from the camaro. Maybe even shave the pivot ball mount and push rod down. But then when you order clutch parts, its for one vehicle, not 8 million different non related part numbers. I have DONE this. And the 3800 flywheel is thicker. If you use the 2.8 flywheel, neutrally balanced, you can use the 2.8 clutch and all. It is identical to the 4 cyl clutches in every dimension. -

*sigh* If it came out of a manual car, killing all the flywheel and parts that came with the engine. It will need to be an Eco out of a manual at the very least. -

Personally, I would run all the camera clutching with Dakota bell and slave and front beating retainer. -

JeepcoMJ replied to Kano808's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The 2.8 flywheel needs to be machined to be neutrally balanced in order to be used on the 3.4. Buy ANY ax15. You don't need to care. The external slave parts will need to come from the dakota. -
August. I will probably take the kj, if the mj isn't ready

Project 4 seat MJ, Killed in the womb.
JeepcoMJ replied to Lord Beckbury's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
1.) Just because it's "one of a kind", doesn't mean it's exempt from being ugly. 2.) Just because we think it's ugly, doesn't mean we drive a piece of junk MJ and/or are jealous. 3.) This isn't a pissing contest, so stop trying to make it one. I realize the unique factor, and for that reason, I respect it and the new owner for having obtained it. Does not mean I have to like the styling or design of it, whether it be a one-off prototype or mass produced. Exactly. Relax. Your opinion matters just as much as everyone else. He has been helped. -
