here's the frame after blasting it. the paint I use... painted black :D rear bumper after paint hitch after paint all re-installed so far it's looking good. I need to re-gear it to 4.10's from 3.07's, so when I do that, the LSD will be available. the next things that I'm doing to it are gonna be plating over the bad rust for now with a spare rocker I have....just gonna cut out the rust on the rockers, then prime it, and put the rockers over the rest of it so that I can drive it for now, and redo it later. still need to finish the floors and get the carpet back in, and I gotta get a CB set up. fog lights are wired too. replacing passenger side window crank today, and fixing the driver's side vent wing window. then on to lifting it.

I don't use myspace for talking to people I don't know...if you are my friend on myspace, then I know you, if not, then you may try to add me but chances are you will get mingled with the bots and deleted... facebook, basically the same thing, but then at least I HAD general info about you...except that now it's turning into facespace/mybook. internet is good for 3 things; 1) cc.com + some others 2) porn 3) ebay in that order :D -
more pics...removed rear bumper and hitch, primed (and painted but no pics of that yet), and sandblasted the rear frame so I can paint it before the bumper goes back on... also, put on a chrome bumper with black corner pieces and bumper-guards, then installed my push bar and a set of "blazer" lights that I had for it. gotta wire the lights, other than that it's set to go on the front end. factory lsd and 3.07's :D :( yay pot-blaster! think I need new shackles? engine pics wasnt so sure about the chrome bumper...but I like it. sportin my cc.com stickers!

just towed home a friend's new cherokee (1994 half a motor, no engine bay wiring, junk tranny, excellent body and rockers for $160) last night with a flat tow bar that can be seen on the front of Project tatersalad. 48.5 miles and it handled like a dream...but I didn't go over 45 and i wasn't hammering on the brakes.

Was: Stroker 4.6L swap, Now: 4.0L swap... apparently...

f* the $#!& fit, I'd throw a law suit on him. that's advertising/selling/extorting under a false pretense that you are getting something that you aren't. -

A couple of questions.....
JeepcoMJ replied to CWLONGSHOT's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Yes the unit bearing WITH the axle does support the load. Not by itself. PLEASE NO ONE TRY THIS!! Your tire WILL absolutely come off!!! The stub shaft IS REQUIRED with unit bearings. Unit bearings are built to have the added support of the stub shaft and the nut compressing everything together. It would work for rolling it around in the shop or parking lot, but thats about all!! Some years back a company tried this and people where hurt BADLY. They where sued and abruptly closed!!! When I remember the name I'll post it. you do need the stub, but you don't have to have a 4wd one. the 2wd is the same without the ujoint mounts. -
putting pep into a 2.8 =)

first, we've all had our down-points (low-points is harsh, cause i'm in about the same boat relationship-wise). second, the only way you get anywhere is to get out there and experience things. I'm in no place for relationships right now, so I'm not doing that. but I have in the past, and in the future, I will be as well. never tried a dating site, never will. I'm afraid the hot-babe will turn out to be some sorta she-boy. and that ain't cool lol. -
haha, it is a bit too narrow...couldn't help it, he made the main part in shop class without the truck present. angle was a bit much, but it's still good. it looks damn good in my opinion, and would be a shame to see on a toy
-
It's the epitomy of beefiness. all it needs in my opinion, is a set of down-tubes from the top of the wheel well to the top of the main bar. this thing is real heavy duty if you looked at it in person, you would know.

wanna see more? go to http://www.paintjam.com/ and check out the flash vids section. he does ALOT of these, it's wicked awesome.

a backup? build a second stroker....:D

what did the 4.2 come in, and what else is necessary to install one? I assume timing would be off...how would you correct that? what pistons/connecting rods would ya use how well would this work with a renix system?
-
my brother made this for his 88 comanche. last thing to do is sheath it in aluminum diamond plate, and mount a xj liftgate shock to lift the door. it's a toolbar as well...hi-lift mount, military shovel, hi-lift handle, clevis, and hook, as well as 2 gerry cans for spare gas. he put expanded steel in where the window would be...it's tough :D it uses a cherokee 4.0 hood latch and cable/handle to open it. thinkin about making me one for the 89

What are the plans for the 4 link? duct tape :D j/k. I just had to throw that in there, I like duct tape. nice xj -
yea, just don't get a jetta, diesel or non. they are worse to work on than a corrado, which I have also owned (but never liscensed...). 1992 corrado vr6 that had a g-60 hood (a.k.a. hood mount different) so the p.o. put hood pins on...but held them in with screws. 120mph hood lets loose, dents the hood to heck, cracks windshield up bad, wrecks top of the car pretty good too. had alot of bondo on it too...stupid body kits. so I'm saying don't consider a vr6, unless it's nice and has less than 70,000 miles, or has had new timing chain guides installed (they are wore out by 120,000 miles in most cases, and ya don't want the motor to blow) and also, don't buy any vw with a g-60 unless you're looking to rebuild turbos...alot. sheesh, I should own a vw/jeep repair store...I've had my fair share of both apart :P

Question: Best Tow Hook mounting options?
JeepcoMJ replied to jpfrogger's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I'm not sure who, BUT I know you can go to the jy and get one for cheap from a different vehicle. as long as it's main tube is wide enough, you can make your own ends to mount it up. I can facilitate measurements and/or send you a tracing of my swb tow bar mounting points and such...as I have it off of the 89 at the moment (orig. owner supposed to get back...I'm making him one instead :D) this offer is extended to anyone who is interested, PM me and I can trace it onto a section of cardboard and send that to you. they're the same on both sides. -
its computer-controlled so the whole wiring harness would be necessary, but it would have to be for a renix era 4.0 auto. the tranny will work, but all the electronics need to be the same year truck (or around there), and you need the flexplate and torque converter as well. so, buy a parts cherokee with what you want, and swap it in.
