  1. name of Pat leaving with Wade most likely. staying near Wade...in campground. will be in an 03 gmc duramax with a 40 foot flatbed, and at least 2 MJ's on it...perhaps one next to it. cell number will be available...will post nearer to date, then remove upon return as I don't want it out there for the world to see.
  2. :hmm: cause they look purty....
  3. haha, speaking of which. call me tonight after 7:30. I want to test my CB out and you are the only other person with a CB that I know.... I recieve from the semis etc. but am not sure if they were responding to me, plus I have NO CLUE how to set the antennas for it. I just want them to work for trail riding, i don't need a 40 or 50 mile radius.
  4. I agree with the previous... tell him. flat out just say, hey, I don't think she's trustworthy, and I think she's doing things behind your back...then say that if anything happens, you're there for him and he can crash at your place. also tell him to consolidate his sh*t so she can't take any of it...cause chances are that's what the b*tch is planning, if she's as bad as you're saying. I've been THE ONE in the situation before, and my friend told me...I was blinded but was cautious. mad at him for awhile for even thinking that was possible, then realized the truth and managed to get away with all my assets and such intact..even the jewelry I had given her. BUT I did think that he was the one she was cheating with for a bit...he proved me otherwise and we're still good friends.
  5. alright, so what CB channel will we be on? I got 40 to choose from so....:P how's 17 sound?
  6. cb and antennae installed tomorrow I blast the rockers and such and will be priming them, then screwing them down after I drill for spot welds. then to finish the cab corners, and the floor. gonna finish the body work on everything but the rear fenders by friday, and get the front suspension done by end of next week. that will leave just finishing touches, and she's ready for the badlands.
  7. got my CB antennas for $44. duals gonna mount them tomorrow as I don't have time to do serious work on it before I go to work. then I'll get the sandblasting on the rockers done on thursday, and also prime with weld-able primer, then weld everything in. then prime again, and remove fender flares...paint bottom edge black after scuffing. goal is to have the cb mounted and tuned, and the floors and rockers done by friday afternoon, then go get the front right fender flare from the jy on saturday. oh, and my lift components have arrived. everything BUT the control arms that I still have to send $$$ for. I build the uppers in the morning with new bushings. :D
  8. damn bob....still work on it if ya can. I'm STOKED. to go. but I just went to missouri (st. louis) and back and am sick of traveling... so I am thinking I'll leave the trailering to my dad and bro...and we may just have to bring the 3800 down as well. I can't stand long trips and not be the driver..i go nuts.
  9. comanche decals on fenders shoulda gone on the bottom edge of doors.... It looks GREAT though. and now I know just how much to cut off the truck at the junkyard for your cab corner.
  10. It's staying on the truck, and so is the "wing" it's fiberglass. the "wing" is a racerback. and yes, keep them. where are you located? I may be able to help with the dents in the bed ;)
  11. oh here's a good one. I didn't use to use eye protection. during grinding and cutting...on the 3800 build. wellll, I got a metal shaving in my eye. more specifically my iris. it pinned the iris so my pupil wouldn't dialate, and was rubbing like a mother on my eyelid...but I didn't know this at the time, just thought I had a piece on my eye, not in it. went to work next day, they said I had to go take care of it...it was affecting my vision. so I did, and the doctor marvelled at how the heck I could drive 45 min. to work in a 15 passenger van with that sort of injury.... anyways, there was a rust deposit formed, so he had to take and numb my eye, and grind a part of my cornea out. I say grind lightly..it was more of a cut. luckily, while there is scar tissue, it wasn't in the field of vision of the pupil. I wear eye protection all the time now, for all the little things too. I advise it. other than that, I've had plenty of cuts, scrapes, bruises, and a few metal-to-bone experiences. the eye one was the only time I went to the doctor.
  12. Wildman...note that I didn't say factory in a factory sense. they were dually's before they were available for public, not some homebrew kit. I also did say that they were "sub-contracted" of sorts.
  13. yea, we def. need one big picture of all of us with our trucks...
  14. yea....which is why I'm kinda leaning away from it. but idk....
  15. updated list...add yourself if you are coming 89Eliminator JeepCoMJ CEThomas ComacnheDude ryno1121 egghead attaboybob Warf90 Beaterjeep Steve (jeepco's bro) Phil (jeepco's dad) Jake (friend of jeepco in his xj) Joe (friend of jeepco in jake's xj) wasn't gonna get the 40 foot flatbed...but dad wanted to come and grandpa is fine with him hauling it. so that's 2 comanches on the trailer, and I will probably drive the 3800 down to show it off. looks like we'd be bringing the 89 for sure, and either the turbo diesel or my bro's truck, and probably the 3800. unless we say only two and trailer them both down there. yay flatbed and duramax!!
  16. I don't have the links anymore...new computer since then, these pics were on my external. in my research, I found that they were a base model comanche that was taken from the factory and offered as a dually by some company...so it was similar to the factory lowrider (the one with the body kit) in that aspect. the brake rotors are larger, and the dually's are mounted via a spacer kit. same for the front. then the fenders for the rear are simply bolted on, and other than that they're the same as a normal one.
  17. no, sorry. but it's a turdy not a 44
  18. I posted this in the comanger thread, but figured I'd start this since it is not your everyday knowledge of 9 or 10 factory dually's, that is the only one to survive in the continental us. the other is in hawaii, and is run with a flatbed. they had dana 44's from factory, with an adapter/spacer kit to allow for dually's and a spacer system on the front. upgraded braking system (rotors etc.) to account for more hauling, and rumour has it the springs were heavier duty than the 1 tons. this one's a full resto and conversion to a HO from a 1991 cherokee. and yes, I've done waaaay to much research.
  19. pics of the truck please?

    Comanger????

uh...i think I just found out my next MJ project... like i need one, but a ranger bed is easy for me to get. and a 2wd comanche is near me with a nice cab, frame, and front end other than the clip and fender and there's a 98 xj that's not for sale but has been hit hard in the rear...could get for cheap. thinkin altezza rear lights, full 98 conversion (engine, exterior, interior) possibly a lowrider?
  21. haha, msn me...one day we'll get lucky and catch each other at the same time. cutting wheel works well, a big one on an angle grinder. and a small one for finishing. a sandblaster is almost a must. also, body seam sealer will be needed, and a spot weld bit to drill through the welds, and create new holes to weld to. masking tape to cover off what you don't want blasted or painted. hehe, thanks. rockers aren't installed yet, but they ARE ready to be on the passenger side. cab corners are another story. won't be long now... I will be out of town this weekend til late on monday, i work all day tuesday, but wednesday I hope to sandblast it all, and prime it with zinc weld-through primer. then weld/spot weld and put the body sealer in the panels, and remove the fender flares and paint the bottom edge black. at the same time I will be probably fixing the rust over the fender flares...maybe not. not too sure if i'm gonna fix them, or just clean them up and paint them for now. I don't want to repaint the whole truck, and black up there would be cheesy.

    Comanger????

not to steal the thread or anything, cause the stepside is badass of 9 or 10 factory dually's, that is the only one to survive in the continental us. the other is in hawaii, and is run with a flatbed. they had dana 44's from factory, with an adapter/spacer kit to allow for dually's and a spacer system on the front. upgraded braking system (rotors etc.) to account for more hauling, and rumour has it the springs were heavier duty than the 1 tons. this one's a full resto and conversion to a HO from a 1991 cherokee. and yes, I've done waaaay to much research.
  23. with only skimming and looking at the prics, I deduce that the price is reasonable, if not great. as such, and as a result of my whymsical decisionmaking skills, I believe you should purchase it. therefore, consider my word law, and go buy it. if not, I shall seek to avenge it upon you. (by learning how to drive, and buying it from right under your nose)
  24. always blast outside..the sand gets everywhere. I used black sand from menards. and thanks. I can't wait to get the rockers finished. it will be great to have it finished in general :D oh, and I got my trackbar drop bracket today...looks like it's for a 4" lift kit, so I'll be extending it a bit.
  25. so I cut out the rockers on both sides today, and found mouse-nests :( ...started by just poking rust until i figured it was all crappy, so I just grabbed the rockers/cab corners that I chopped off my parts 91 last fall, and cut these ones out. I still have to sandblast what's left in there, and the new rockers, then paint with zinc weld-through primer, and weld the stuff up. but here's the mockups on the passenger side...I'm only replacing the bad section on the cab corners fyi, but the piece fit all the way over the corner, so I just shoved it on. The plasma cutter was easy to use to cut the rockers and corner off in the first place...the cutting wheel worked nicely to cut the junk ones out too. I am leaving a bit of a lip for the rockers to sit on, and spot welding them to the old rocker pieces that I left in place. It will fit nicely, and I'm sealing them off as I weld them in. that will keep it from rusting down there...already have the spray plugs removed from inside the cab so that when these are permanently installed, I can undercoat the inside. I'll also be putting some spray-in insulation in there.
