  1. The motor isn't a guarantee of good ratio.
  2. Swapped entire distributor as well as indexed?
  3. That was a tv show, not sure which. But my God is it spot on
  4. http://youtu.be/DsF4g6hKzZo Regardless of which party you are with, there are a lot of truthful statements here, and the message as a whole is great
  5. The 89 I made the mistake of selling to Tim (TNT)
  6. And 86 waggy were the same front clip, but 21 slot grille. Go the 97 route.
  7. Yeah...this should have been common sense. Creating a moisture barrier without first removing moisture from the chamber will just create condensation
  8. I can personally guarantee you that your $60 m90 was either a ridiculously good deal, or (more likely) needs a complete overhaul. They wear more than you can imagine
  9. Remember that the t5 hd is used behind 400+hp mustang 5.0 and chevy 350 motors. It has taper bearings in it so you can adjust preload on everything. That isn't an had, but t5 trans are actually pretty strong.
  10. They aren't the right shape, and are brittle plastic. Unable to modify to work, you would have nothing to mount to. And they are smaller, so it wouldn't be possible to make them look right. Dimensionally wider, shorter, and shallower
  11. It's a t5. Some 86 MJ and xj got t5 instead of ax5 when they had a shortage of ax5
  12. Simply put, they are not even close to fitting. You would have to modify the body to make them fit
  13. Install it, remove sender from tcase, take gear off shaft from spare speedo gear, hook drill up, walk away and monitor. Key on of course
  14. Remove the speedo from old cluster and put into new cluster. Won't upgrade to trip, but will be correct
  15. A new tire thats at the very least 8 years old is still an old tire, no matter how good it looks. And the mtrs suck anyways. That is a road rim with an off road tire that is loud on the road and terrible off it. Thats $500 max.
  16. I want to know how you plan on pulling the tumbler out of the column without breaking the column, since you MUST have a key to remove the ignition cylinder. should have gotten a spare made.
  17. I don't need a gate, I have guns.
  18. 13 acres with 1500 foot drive from road to house, 2000 square feet road frontage and 6 off shoots that need salting, the main drive takes two passes to plow, end of shop takes 7, cow yard takes 9, behind barn takes 5 for the main, 3 between silos, and two for each of the 3 off shoots from there, then a two pass 40' chunk off the main so we can get hay and straw to the goats without trudging through waist deep drifts. Averaging it all, it is a half mile of driving to plow and likely 1/4 mile to salt as the salt spreads further than the blade can reach. So perhaps the length of drive is an exaggeration, but that is the amount of driving it takes to do with straight passes and no excessive reverse. The problem with the drive is that it is long, hilly, and also ends up being a runoff, so it gets very icy, and can stack 2" depth on ice in most places.
  19. There is easily a halfmile of drive plus all the little nooks and crannies and the concrete in front of the barn...and it's hilly, as well as has branches, on hills, where it ices up 2" thick.
  20. Btw... Well I am new to salting entirely. We have a driveway that takes around 1,000 lbs to do each time, but have spread by hand until now. It isn't a regular thing that we need to salt...the drive is gravel, and has a great runoff so it clears itself well. It's when we get freezing rain that we run into issues.. Picked up the sp325 from the local dealer.. Was actually going for the 210 that just plugs into factory 7 pin trailer plug, but two weeks of waiting and freezing rain dictated that I get something, and now. So, came home with the 325, hooked it up, and immediately decided that the factory is wrong on what types of can't cannot be used. Ran 12 bags (50lbs each) of rock salt, that worked good. That was as many as I could get...everyone is out of stock. Ran 4 bags of calcium flakes through it (90lbs each....actually leftovers from when we used to need calcium to keep the plaster from cracking in the public pool that I run in the summer). Worked great. Then ran 3 bags of ice melt, and 7 bags of rapid melt through it. Everything I ran through it, it fee perfectly with zero issues. I am going to run in and fill it at the local co-op with bulk and prove everyone wrong there, too. I bet it works great. The only thing I can say is that it is honestly too small for my needs...but we will use it maybe 3 times a year. This is only for my driveway, which is also my business parking lot and drive. Was new in box but didn't come with cover...that will be here tuesday Just a happy customer. Thought I would share

Jim, pull the trans shifter floor plate out of the trans hump, and shove an engine hoist through the door, then drop a chain down through the whole, wrap it around the transmission and lift it up. May need to block and rehook a few times, but not a hard thing to do.
  22. I may have one floating around. Will look in the morning.
  23. I like that. He's a dbag and has been called "homo" since freshman year. I love how our high school coach is still employed because Romo had talent and went somewhere. God knows the coach doesn't know what he's doing....losing season every year since 2004 now. Make it a point to make fun of him every coaches meeting lol.
  24. Guys, you are sitting here bringing up some good points. But the greatest point that I think is missed here is that, to do a carb swap without unlimited money to do it with is going hinder the ability to do things like individual cylinder exhaust analyzing. We can go one step further here and also say this; I know of an xj running a 4.0 with 258 aftermarket parts on it for 4bbl carb. It has been for sale for 3 years, starting at a high price and going down. Still for sale. no one wants someone's bastardized mess. Not only will going to a carb cost more to do right (which you seem not to have the deep pockets for), but it's going to negatively affect resale value. Cool factor only goes so far. People want something that runs consistently. You can't get that by going back in time.
  25. Just wait...Hopefully I will get a chance to make fun of romo personally at some point as we hail from the same small town.
