more efficient burning, and you'd also probably have a different torque and hp rating because of that and the mpfi ECU would make it run in the same powerband as the newer 4 cylinders
-
dana 30 will handle those pretty well. I wouldn't go much bigger than that though with a dana 30 front. gearing has nothing to do with strength. the dana 44 has alot more strength because the parts are beefier, not because they're set to a different gear. you'd do alright, but like i said you'd HATE huge tires on those gears. you can forget about overdrive (or 5th gear) with 3.07's and 35" tires...you'll never use either. my bro's got 3.07's in his mj with 31" tires and does just fine...we're regearing to 4.10's soon with a chryco 8.25 rear axle out of my xj, but he intends to run 33's someday.

I'm parting out an xj here (if i don't decide to fix it) that's a 93 2.5 4 cylinder 5 speed. it has multi-port fuel injection. is anyone here interested in the COMPLETE system to put mpfi on your renix era 2.5? this will include all intake, exhaust manifold, all engine bay wiring harness and accessories (I'm keeping the washer and coolant reservoirs), throttle body, fuel pump and tank if you want them, fuel lines, fuel rail, interior wiring harness and accessories. electronic speedo accessories ECU this will literally be everything needed to convert any 2.5 TBI to an MPFI system will need mods to work on an automatic. what's the value of this complete system, and is anyone looking for it? not posting this in classifieds yet because i wanted to know if there's a market for it, or if anyone was interested. it'd be the complete kit...i don't want to part anything out, if no one were to want it i would save it for a rainy day.

yea. lucky you're close. it's worth $200 easily, and you will be happier with it regardless of if it's lower gears. I would consider a regear to at least 3.55's though (you can have that carrier geared to 3.55's "easily")
-
paid 300 for mine with 4.10 gears
-
stronger axle means larger tires you'll HATE them on the 3.07 gears. probably better to regear the truck at the same time
-
stronger axle.

i'll take the blame on the war part buddy. 8)

HAHAHAHA 89eliminator told me to type in the site in the lower rite of the pic. made my day. they even have contests.

yea, hummer does help. jeep hasn't because it was owned by dcx....dcx doesn't give a damn.
-
it's not very well proven, they have alot more issues than something like jeeps etc.
-
i saw it...doesn't change the facts :P
-
still just a name on that rig. it's built on a suburban frame. what a p.o.s.
-
thanks man. you're doing precision work here. my stuff may be a bit more technical, but it was never as in-depth. i think my entire truck needs to be stripped down and redone personally.
-
i pulled everything i'd never use from the wiring harness before i even finished yanking the old motor. that build is actually done except for the small "upgrades" I want to do to it. my problem was that i powered the fuel pump straight from the pcm at first :thwak: but didn't screw up the pcm since the 3800 has a positive from the pcm to the fuel pump relay. at the point i built my truck, i'd never done wiring like this before. this mishap cost me $120 for my inline fuel pump (ford v8 pickup with MPFI late 80's) before i realized that i forgot the relay for the pump. I don't have gm manuals, but i do have access to alldatapro.com...so i got the complete connector views and pins and wiring diagrams with that. from there, i decided what the engine needed to run. as for the bypass module, the one from bakerelectronix is like $45 shipped or so :P.

JeepcoMJ replied to chicofuentes0224's topic in The Pub
lol. thanks guys. i went out to dinner with my friends and just had a couple girly drinks. i'm not about drinkin it down...and beer's not something i REALLY wanna spend my $$$ on. and tim, sorry but i pretty mutch pass out from any dark liquors. only allergy i've found as of yet. but, being 21 isn't exactly an excuse for me to get $#!&ty. i just work too damn much to get $#!&ty. -
resounding no. buy a 4x4 trans, or buy a 2wd xj driveshaft. either way, you will be out more money than you want to. there's only one way to do it right...replace it with the same part.
-
should. but, i wouldn't bother. it's not worth it, it devalues your vehicle, and a rear driveshaft will cost you $100. you're better off spending that $$$ on a different tranny that's 4x4.
-
technically you can, but you'll need a 2wd rear driveshaft. why do you want to get rid of the 4wd
-
1. 4x4 and 2wd trannies have different output shafts, and tail housings. so, a 2wd can't be swapped with a 4x4 if you want to maintain 4x4. 2. the zj must have the same motor in order for this to work.
