  1. gona look alot like mine, i just need to find me a set of pretty rims(still prefer the steelies to the stock alloys that came on them) thats an old pic no more mud flaps or tool box also fixed the molding it looks much better but is never that close to clean anymore.
  2. pay MONEY for a parts xj??? they come up free on craigs every other day...well up here anyway
  3. the 86 owners manual states "Curb weight (base vehicle) 3093 lbs" the 90 owners manual states "Curb weight (base vehicle) long box 4x2-2955.2lbs 4x4-3129.9lbs and short box 4x2-2897.6lbs 4x4-3072.3lbs" keep in mind only the lwb was being produced in 86

    4X4 BURNOUT

    wish i had sponsors...
  5. i guess i wasn't clear...i have a stock d44 under my 90 comanche and was thinking that the grands disk brakes would bolt onto it. is this not so? is there an option for bolt on disks from the jy? if not how much work does it take to modify some other setup and from what should i get the parts from? just interested in the brake setups because that is the only thing i feel that was sub standard on these trucks.
  6. what does it take to convert the comanche d44 to disks i was under the impression that there were other model (grand) d44s to pillage the parts from for a bolt in?
  7. the tag on your punkin cover if you still have one will read 005 006 or 005 416 with a 3.07 ratio and 005 007 or 005 017 with a 3.54 ratio if it has the locking diff. these numbers came from a 87-90 parts catalog found here http://www.greatlakesxj.com/tech.html its marked 88-90 but the pdf's heading says 87-90 so hope that helps extra thanx to LEAD_NOT_FOLLOW for the tech as its been helpful on a couple occasions
  8. mite want to edit the POTS sign out the pics b4 someone spots it. nice job by the way and how do those leaves on the toy work for you? thaught something like that up a few years ago and havent seen anyone do it b4
  9. ahhh cookies thats proly not it though as this just started recently and i havent changed those settings in a great while but ill check and ill try the remember me box to and get back to you thanx
  10. oh of course every time but that time :headpop:
  11. ok so if i try to post a thread or reply i click the appropriate button...sign in...fill in the subject and body...click submit...and it takes me back to the sign in page...so i sign in again and it takes me to a fresh post page...i then click back to the sign in page and again to the original post page in which ive typed...press submit and then it works. it does eventually work so whatever, but its a little drawn out and kinda a pain if i post a few at a time :dunno: thanx terence
  12. I noticed two roosters in the last couple burnouts so i decided to check the numbers on the tag. How difficult is the rebuild?(just yank the carrier, swap the parts and put it back together?) Should i wait until it dies or just take care of it being as I'm at 98k also thanx much for the info its just what i was after.
  13. My ,90 eliminator came stock with a dana 44 which in its self is unique. (to my understanding the d44s were only put in the metric ton package) Today I found that my d44 was also equipped with a stock locking diff. Can anyone school me on this part? 1)How does this locker work? 2)How durable are they? 3)How rare are they?(Ive never heard of them stock)
  14. 50 is cold? its about 34 degrees and about 3pm on a sunny day
  15. I'm thinking of getting the telephoto and wideangle lenses b4 they stop producing them
  16. ha...then it will match mine, was that a pic request because ive got gads of these on this comp.
  17. sorry i can't help...but i would like to add to your question...ide like to add an alt to the top were the a\c would be if my 90 were optioned with it (wanting to add a secondary power system that is independent of the stock system)
  18. the eagle axle would be good but hard to adapt the ifs control arms, the upper a arm is mounted to the sheet of the inner fender w/coil and shock mounted on top of the a arm and again mounted at the top to sheet. use your imagination since everything is gone
  19. eagles...every day in abundance. moose every winter all winter, had a few bulls stay in the neighborhood 2-3 weeks last xmas i don't even keep track as they walk through my yard every day. bears are of bigger concern, blackbears show up for trash every few weeks and there is always a strey dog to chase them off brown bears on the other hand don't show up in town much but when they do it takes more than the sreys (my mom lives about 20 houses down the street and around the corner this shot is one i took from there of the house directly across the street it backs onto the same military land that is behind mine) just got more snow or resnowed, a low cloud covered my hills for 2 days and left me with this and here is one taken last spring off the Seward Hwy (1hour south of Anchorage) ok I'm done for now
  20. i like the bfg commercial t\a, mine(235\75r15-no lift) have seen 3 summers and 3 winters and am just beginning to see wear. they blew me away in the winter, best grip in snow and ice ive ever experienced. they do fill ez in the mud but do a prety decent job as an all terrain (ive also yet to have a puncture despite all the getto jobsites i drive)
  21. no i was guessing 2o g.s not to bad if you looked at curries parts runner manche in jp i think total est was 17
  22. all of the problems/concerns noted above are all addressed on the page so i guess ill just have to wait to see. just thaught they would make a very uneque manche, spendy but worth it if they are as strong as they say but i did like the hybrid 9 concept of them.
  23. champion suuuccckkksss every time ive used these brand plugs they were toast with the quickness must just be that super clean AK air
  24. just trying stuff...funny dog and lazer show
  25. beauty is in the eye of the beholder me and my gf decided that the correct term is ...chesthairsexy... oneword and up until that tree jumped out from nowere and smashed the pass door that car was the nicest one ive ever seen, localy or on the internet limited, tow package(unheard of 3.08 gear ratio), load leaveling shocks(very rare),lots of chrome, power seats/windows/locks,leather seats, all the extra butons and gages, and the most amazing...ready...wait...factory cellphone/cradel charger and integrated hands free setup (remote mount speaker and mic.) yes i dropped a couple jaws at eaglesnest.com over a few of those options baught it off a lot for 1600 and was the second owner (i did meet the original owner, he forgot to put the cell in the car before driving into town to sale it but contacted the lot so as it could stay with the car) I even got to hook the cell up for a few mo.s b4 our network was updated(AK is still about 5 years behind the rest of the country in cell techwhatever) the only reason it got hacked up is because of the only rust on her eating the thin sheet metal that holds the top of the shock, coil and upper Aarm it all broke loose at once, at 45mph (scary with lots of traffic) lucky i was close to home[/b]
