I love creativity as much as the next guy, but really the only point were trying to push off onto you is you joined a website with many if not nearly all the members are passionate about what these trucks were and what they are today. What you started with was a pretty "highly ranked" model of Comanche. sure it was a bit beat up and rusty but for you to go and pretty much throw all the collectivity out of it really gets to some people. I'm not gonna say wether what your doing is acctually "wrong" or not, All I'm saying is these trucks are growing older everyday so you own a peice of Automotive history no matter what you choose to do with it. All I can say is I hope you wake up every day and smile when you get to jump in your Comanche, no matter what you choose to do with it. ;) Good Luck and I'm anxious to see your finished product

I picked this Comanche up from a guy who is a regular in the Advance Auto Parts where i currently work. He just drove it in 1 day and I asked if i could take a look @ it. 5 mins later I came back in and offered to buy it from him. He accepted after some thought and I then aquired my 3rd MJ. This truck is an 89 Pioneer LWB. 4.0/AW4/D30/D44 It was orgionaly owned by an older fella who took it to a mechanic for a leaking fuel tank. Well right when work was completed sadly the orgional owner past away and this truck was left in the hands of the mechanic. He replaced many things including front brakes/rotors, a new Track bar, the Fuel Tank, and a few other misc. things. He then began driving it and acctually couldent get over how good it ran for him. It must have been in a front end accident at 1 time since the Hocky stick stripes end on the doors in different spots and the front fenders had been repainted. It came with a re constructed Title as well. Anyway the truck runs great for having 197000 on it. My plans for it is to 1st take the Dana 44 rear axle and swap it into my current MJ project. I have a parts truck that will gladly donate its Dana 35 and driveshaft to this 1. It does have a few small issues ive come across mainly with the window cranks and lock cylinders. These will all be fixed with supplied parts as well. My goal is by next Janurary (2011) is to have all the parts off it I want for my MJ and to have it ready to be road worthy and then get it licensed and insured. For now I just got a title transfer. In the end It will also get a nice spraypaint job of some sort, with Hurculiner on the bottom section. The only rust i have to tend to is above the Drivers rear wheel well, the floors have already been taken care of but I might coat the inside with POR-15 to insure its longetivity. Ill do my best to keep tabs on this 1 as well as my current project. I'm just happy to have saved another MJ and being able to give it a new life once again. My 1st thing i tackled tonight was to remove the drop in liner and sweep out the mess underneath......yuck!

I'm down to my last 2 cards..... Any chance i could get some more pete? Let me know what info ya need, my address is the same if you have it on file. Thanks! -
Yep, I brought MJ #3 home today. 89 Pioneer LWB 4.0/AW4/4x4 Worst part about the truck is the paint looks horrible. Lots of new or near new parts including a brand new fuel tank. Engine runs great @197,000 and AC is even ice cold. :D Underside is cleaner than my current truck, lol, Floors have already been repaired and only rust to tackle is the rear wheel wells :clapping: Interior is in great shape minus the headliner missing and the foam in the bench worn out. Includes Transfer case and front skids and my personal favorite feature and my main reason of purchasing..... Behold! YES a Dana 44!. All this for $1500, to most it would seem like a waste but to a Comancheclub member i think of a find like this a treasure

Yep it seems that simple, but a goverment like ours would never let that open to the public.... -
Same as well

Cleanest way would be to run the wires inside the rollbar to the underside of the truck and then come up through the engine bay and through the firewall

4dr XJ Sliders on a SWB MJ?
ComancheKid45 replied to ComancheKid45's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Darn..... Well ill check in with JCR when the time comes. What other options do I have besides straight up build a set? -
Well eventually here I want to throw a set of Rocker sliders on my MJ. I was eyeballing JCR for a good while but they have sense folded their MJ Product line as we all know. So basically I wanna know if 4dr XJ sliders can be installed or made to work on a SWB MJ? If so whats all needed for the install and what does everyone reccommend? Thanks as always!
