  1. Got a ballast resistor for the fuel pump. A guy told me he had a similiar problem one time and it was the resistor. So I figured 11$? Why the heck not. Gonna hopefully rent a good fuel pressure guage Saturday and get back to messing on the trouble maker. I wanna see what that pressure is once the trucks warmed up...
  2. Definitely checking locals then. Will they install a exhaust without a cat? I know its technically illegal to run without one.
  3. And I'll check with local shops beforehand. From internet research I was hearing 300+ for an install and materials...
  4. Lord. May just have to bug a guy I used to work for and see if he'd mind helping me piece it together.
  5. I just received a couple rear flares. Just the flares no brackets. Upon inspection I noticed that there are 11 holes in the back part of it. They look factory. Do these line up with the holes on the body panel that the mounting bracket mounts to? Because if so then this is going to be much easier than I thought. Attaching the wheel liners isn't important to me currently because like 3 of them cracked and fell out anyways I think. Just didn't want to remove the old flare without knowing first.
  6. Another couple questions. Do you guys think I could do all of this successfully without welding? And I may try and make a Cherokees tailpipe work so I don't have to pay a shop to build me one or buy an original off Ebay and cut it to add the 3" length on.. I think I could cut out the section that goes over the axle with enough to clamp some pipe on, and then piece the rest together. Like with everything I do on this truck I want to do it as cheap as possible (and preferably by myself) while still maintaining quality. May have someone that could weld it up for me if clamps couldn't do it. But I'd like to do it all myself :D
  7. Would making it a 36" section change the flow to much, if any? I mean of course it's going to be after the glasspack and muffler. I don't mind cutting out the idea of doing a 3" section. Just really wanting the deep sound
  8. Well I think this all just proves I should try a glasspack and all that and see if I like it. Which I'm sure I will. Thanks guys.
  9. Thats the exact reason I want to try to keep it the same but still be able to get a good sound. don't wanna take away from performance just for sound
  10. I've just heard that running with to low backpressure can cause valves to go out quicker and give worse gas mileage with less low end torque. Which all of those things are something I want to keep lol
  11. I've already read through your build thread, Stacks. And gosh... I love the sound and look of those stacks all around. Creative to do to a Comanche. I'm thinking when it comes down to it I'm going to experiment with a Glasspack and Thrush Welded. From what I've seen Glasspacks are amazingly inexpensive. Way better than the $60-90 for a cat.
  12. Does it actually add enough backpressure? And are you running it with another muffler or just a Cherrybomb?
  13. So I just wanna ask some questions I've been wondering for a bit about exhausts. Currently I have no cat because my original one exploded. I have a Thrush Welded muffler connected in probably the most unreliable way possible because I can't weld. But I plan to redo my exhaust from the header back as soon as I get the truck running good. I want to have a nice sound on it. Loud enough to be noticed but not obnoxious. I think the Thrush can provide that once I get the entire exhaust system worked out. I found Walker replacement piping for a really good price. 56$ for the tailpipe and from the header to the cat is like 30$ and they both have free shipping. I want to keep stock 2 1/4" pipe because of airflow and backpressure. Being in Alabama I don't have emissions checks and all that so the cat isnt NEEDED but like I said I want the right backpressure so either I want to get one or do something to correct the backpressure. My questions are how could I correct the backpressure without a cat? Because they are pricey. And I've heard of people using Glasspacks in front of mufflers, why? Can that correct the backpressure and add a good sound? And also I wanted to cut the tailpipe at the bend and run the pipe straight back under the rear bumper with a 3" tip to hopefully add a deeper sound. Would the 3" tip change the sound at all or would it just look obnoxious? Another goal I want to complete with this is as little interior sound as possible. No drone on the highway hopefully. I know this is a bunch of typing for such little questions but I felt the need to explain everything. Exhausts are important to me because I love good sounding trucks and would love for my I6 to sound even more like a deep toned V8. Thanks guys :D
  14. A black vinyl carpet from Rockauto. An original mint condition Jeep 1989 sales brochure (I think its a sales brochure... its whatever Jeep had to show the model options for the year) rear fender flares. Almost every good Jason Statham action film. A Skull Daddy Hoo Rag. And a 2 year subscription to JP magazine (a gift that keeps on giving!) The 1989 sales brochure was by far my favorite... nearly puked when I opened it. Merry Christmas guys :D
  15. weeks is an understatement... But mines because the number of possible causes for running problems... :D but God I love this thing.
  16. .... the reason you don't have a girlfriend literally is because it means less money to spent on your MJ. ... and the main reason your last girlfriend broke up with you is cause you wouldn't scrap that "piece of ugly junk" for a new car :D . ... you find peace in just looking under the hood and thinking about how happy you are with your first vehicle.
  17. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000C7S062 Spectra Premium CU1193. Its what I got when I did an open cooling swap this summer. Has the bung and it keeps the truck cool even in high heat (Took 15 minutes to turn on the AUX fan at idle during a 100 degree day in Alabama) and best part? Amazing price with free shipping! Hope this helps :D
  18. But it makes some sense to me that the TPS could cause your stalling by not reading correctly and setting the A/F ratio too high when the system gets warm and gets out of open loop.
  19. It didnt adjust the A/F ratio quick enough when letting off the gas so it dumped to much for to long and stalled it. My stalling problem was different though. Tried to stall at idle rarely but only fully stalled when letting off the gas. And you can test the CTS just by letting the truck idle till it gets up to temp and then you can disconnect it and check the OHMs.
  20. I have a low idle and stalling issues. TPS should be thoroughly checked because changing mine mostly fixed my stalling. I think the rest of my problems are CTS but I haven't tested it. If the TPS constantly is the wrong adjustment after you adjust it, then change it. And I recommend not changing it with a Airtex/wells. Horrible replacement. Do you know how to test a CTS?
  21. Thanks guys. Sadly want shackle mounts and reciever hitch, and I'm not military. Ill pay the 225 eventually :D
  22. Walmart has it in the Auto section for a buck or so cheaper than any auto store I've seen it. Sometimes half the price actually
  23. Where are you guys finding Nates bumpers for that cheap? On his website they're like $225..
  24. Some kids once ripped the windshield wiper bars off of my moms Jeep. Just because they didn't like me. That two weeks of waiting for the bars to come in the mail sucked... especially since it was during rain season. Some people don't have anything better to do than make others lives hell. I recommend Quik Steel for patching the gas tank if you need an easy solution. I used it to repair a gas line last year and its still holding up with no leaks at all. I keep a tube of it in my truck now, comes in super handy :D
  25. Oh, and I forgot to add AL into the title. Sorry mods, my bad. I'm in Alabama and I'm figuring it will have to be shipped if anyones selling one. Thanks.
