  1. I checked the code and they're 4 years old. I don't think the tire shop even checked the code or cared to check the sidewall for rot...
  2. Getting a set of Kenda street tires for $360 out the door tomorrow. 235/75r15 because they were actually cheaper. At least I won't have to worry about tires for a few years!!!
  3. I'm keeping my front bumper and just reinforcing it one day in the future. I love how the stock front bumper looks, especially with my grill guard. Nates just seems like it would be the best rear one for me as I just need something to pull a light trailer and that isn't a stock bumper. Not a big fan of the stock rear bumpers honestly.
  4. I haven't found any good tires on there lately sadly. The tires I just got were from a guy who deals in used goods and I thought he was giving me a good deal but in hindsite he screwed me over. My fault, though. I should have checked them out better. And I had the money put back for when they release a good coupon. Considering having a local weld shop build me one instead.
  5. Well. I shall probably go with 235's. I believe the shop said it would be 260 out the door for their cheapest street tire in that size... *sigh* there goes my Nates 4x4 rear bumper fund haha. Unless the shop has a GOOD used set of tires in either 225/75/15 or 235/75/15. If I could find a 3.55 geared MJ rear axle for cheap I would probably jump on it. Just for the simplicity of swapping.
  6. Will I experience any change of MPG or get up and go from the 235's as opposed to the 225's? It's only an inch bigger, I know.
  7. Sorry, I meant 225/75r15. It's good to know that 3.55 gears will go good with them. I never drive over 65 unless I'm feeling sporty. I'm considering going to 235/75r15 since I'm having to buy a new set of tires anyways. Just can't decide haha!
  8. I really feel like an idiot for not checking these tires better. Waste of $65.
  9. I knew it was a usual auto combo, wasn't sure if it would fair as well for a stickshift. The rear axle swap sounds pretty plug and play other than the welding of the perches.
  10. If 225's and 3.55's won't lower my gas mileage or anything then I would love to have that extra get up and go for a bit.
  11. I have two topics of questions today. 1, what all is required in swapping a 97+ C8.25 rear axle in? Really considering doing this soon because I want 3.55's. I've heard something about having to have the rear driveshaft shortened... What should I check for when looking at a junkyard axle in order to make sure it's worth the buy? And question number 2, what would 225's be like with 3.55 gears? I'm going to probably have to get ANOTHER set of tires soon... because the guy kind of screwed me on these used tires. I didn't check them enough before shaking his hand and I have just found small hairline dryrot all the way around the sidewall where it meets the tread and the rim, so crap bad deal once again... I'm thinking about getting a new set of 225's in the next couple months because I like how they look but I may regear to 3.55's soon as well. Just don't want to have to buy another set of new tires soon after a new set of 225's...
  12. Thanks guys :D and yeah the entire wheel is going to get hit with paint sometime. Nothing fancy though. And I would have went on with 31's but with my 3.07's it wouldn't have cooperated with my new clutch. I'm throwing around the idea of getting some wheel spacers for the back so it levels out the front and rear tire spacing. I almost got a set of Moab rims for 100$ but it was literally a day after I got my Canyons. Canyons and Moabs are my favorites, with turbines taking a close third.
  13. Finally got my TJ Canyons mounted up! And wow, I am in love with it. Didn't expect to like how the 225×75R15 (yeah, I went ahead and tried them on a 8" rim...) tires look but I actually love them! And gonna get some better get up and go and gas mileage as opposed to my 30" mudders. Gotta throw a coat of paint on them but for now they're good enough.
  14. If you get a new pump there is a writeup I did in the DIY section on how to make the Bosch pump work. It's listed for Renix MJ's but requires some modding to the sending unit to fit. Also, no instructions included on how to assemble it. Go figure.
  15. thats exactly what I was thinking. Which is why I will probably just put them on the 15x7's until I find a bigger set. Even though I love those black Canyons and want to see them mounted on the Jeep... And I tried Simpletire, great prices! Just still to much for me to currently spend on a set of tires that won't be on the Jeep for very long. Hoping to regear and run 31's next summer :D
  16. is it safe to do? I've seen some stretched sidewalls and they look very... unsafe.
  17. Dang. I may just slap them on the 15×7's I already have on the Jeep just to have a good street tire on it until I find some used 235's. Just tired of mud tires. Gas mileage sucks and the road noise gets annoying...
  18. I recently got TJ canyons wheels (15×8) and I have a line on a GREAT set of 225/75/15 tires for a straight trade for the crappy mud tires I have. Are those tires width to little for my rims? They measure out to only 8.86" is why I'm worried. I just wanna know if they will be safe to run for a while.
  19. I've had complete injector Orings fall into the cylinders with no problems. Just burnt them away during combustion from what I can tell. I wouldn't be worried about the small specks of carbon. I have 746's as well, great injectors!
  20. I'm trying to get in contact with the guy. Haven't been awake during the day much lately lol. I'm not really worried about the parking brake cables right now. I'll figure that out when I get down to it. Theres plenty of KJ's and ZJ's in my local junkyard if I want to just piece it together myself. Thanks guys :D
  21. Mines stock height and will not be lifted more than 2" when I'm done with it. I appreciate the searching. And Hornbrod, thanks! Great to know to add those shoes and hardware to the parts list.
  22. Someone school me in the Ebrake setup, though. I know its basically a drum brake hardware kit inside the rotor, but do you just use your old drum brake hardware for it or go to the parts store and get shoes/hardware for a ZJ?
  23. I can only find them on Facebook. I'm highly considering getting this soon just to have... mainly cause they powder coat it for you. And yeah, manual brakes is what I figured. That would suck to have.
  24. MJ does have the seperate reservoirs for front and back. And yeah, my reasoning for getting a WJ is because theres like 10 at the junkyard but only one 96 or 95 XJ and it has a weird MC that doesn't have a booster... I've gotta get up the cash to piece together everything for all these mods. After buying that kit I would need to adapt the emergency brake cables, get pads and emergency brake shoes, and a ZJ P-valve?
  25. definitely! Just gotta get one out of a junkyard WJ. And find the time to do it after the fuse block swap... ahhh working nightshift ruins all my Jeep tinkering.
