chances are Cruiser will retaliate with one that takes up the whole window. By the way, Cruiser and Hornbrod, I love that you both have the same picture just with a caption against the other engine type. Makes me laugh every time I see it :D

Nice Up. Grade for Rough Idol.

The injectors plus a new distributor cap, rotor, plugs and wires fixed most of my rough idle. The injectors are great and one of the first things I do to any of my Renix. -
I agree with this whole heartily. with a FM Super 44 it does sound way better than any other truck I've heard, though. Very clean sound :D

I'm just not a fan of new trucks. Especially the ones that are overly "modded" by local teenagers. I just don't care for the styles that are "in" now when it comes down to how trucks are supposed to look. I just like puttin' around in my ol' Jeep. May not be able to win in towing, or be super loud when you rev the engine, but hey... bet you won't see another one that day :D

I'm off on Thursday and plan to go junkyard searching. Hopefully by January I'll have a set to play with!

will this be on the outside of the head? -
I turn 20 next month and will admit that I am sickened by the fact I'm included in the "millennials". I can not express how often I get into arguments with people my age because of their immaturity and lack of respect. Do you know what I get told? I get told that "i had it easy growing up" compared to them. Funny part is they grew up in the rich part of town and their parents still pay their bills and I had to get a job at 15 because my dad was sick. I now have 3 vehicles paid for by myself and pay my own bills. Most of them are in college for some useless new age degree. But anyways. I hate that happened to you, I've had people vandalize my stuff before and it really sucks that you just have to deal with the damage yourself

The 0331 heads were the first to have the bosses for mounting the coil-on-rail coil packs. All 4.0L engines before 1999 for the Grand and 2000 for the XJ used a conventional coil. If the head doesn't have mounting bosses for the coil pack bolts, it's not an 0331. that's good to know :D once I go look at it and find a tow truck for cheap I'm going to pull the trigger and get it -

I was just looking last night at parts and for the gasket kit (felpro) bolts (felpro) and water pump it would be about 120$ shipped. So add the oil and ect and it would come out to about 200$ that leaves 200$ for head work. Any chance that he possibly blew the radiator? I'll be checking it of course. My mother is worried I will keep the Jeep... I would for sure if it was 4×4. Always wanted a Cherokee but need something that moves all four wheels haha. You can probably rent a coolant system pressure tester to pressure test the rad. I have one at my shop, really comes in handy. A 4X4 conversion is easier than you think. I am doing that to my MJ right now. Sent from my SM-N900W8 using Tapatalk chances are I'm going to rebuild my 4x4 MJ's drive train (new transmission) to get 4x4. Not a big fan of the newer XJ body style anyways, I like the old blocky type :D most of the money I make off of this XJ (If I make any) will go towards the Mazda MX5 I'm wanting to get. Where can I grt a pressure tester? -

I prefer the older body style of XJ's :D but if I can make money off this XJ that'd be great... where rents out pressure testers? -

it's going to get checked and cleaned up professionally no matter which I get. Just wasnt sure about trusting a junkyard one. How much does head work usually cost? -

Bringing this back. Talked to the guy today... he'll take 400$ just to get it out of his yard because he is moving and doesnt want to move it. I'm thinking 400$ for the Jeep, 50-100$ getting it to my house, 50$ for the title swap, and should be able to get the rest done for about 400$? My new plans are to buy this Jeep, fix it, and resell it since it's newer and is very nice. He paid 3000$ for it. If the oil is mixed with coolant I'll need to do an oil change correct? And what if the head is warped, grab a junk yard one and have it resurfaced? Really would like to take on this project and see if I could flip it and make some extra cash. -
Ooo, nice! I haven't heard about anyone doing it before. If they have then I would love to hear how. Save me the trouble of figuring it all out.

I'm going to try and find out what keeps it from folding further forward and see if it's just a part that needs to be ground down. To keep from having to source a tilt mechanism. TJ parts are ridiculously priced here haha

wasn't that with replacing the whole tilt mechanism with one from a TJ?
-
that actually gave me a little more of an idea behind what size wire and all. My write up's are going to have pictures, though, so I'll still do one of the winch since everyone loves pictures :D
-
Wanted to see if anyone can re-call these write-up's already being posted before I created my own of them. 1st: adding new wire to the spare tire "winch" when the cable breaks. 2nd: making a 4-door bucket seat fold all the way forward without changing the tilt mechanism. 3rd: installing 97+ bucket seats on bench seat brackets without welding. Pretty sure I'll end up with 4-door 97+ buckets is why I plan to make these write ups. If anyone already has seen write ups for these please let me know! Otherwise wish me luck! :D

shocks are going to be a purchase soon since they're only 60$. Can't hurt to run them for now! Thanks :D -

I would LIKE to be able to do 2000 pounds every once in awhile. If the occasion appeared where I need to. (Very rare occasion) I like those shocks... Alot. Especially the price. I will probably end up getting a set of those and add an XJ main leaf for kicks. I think that will more than fix me up enough. Would the air shocks be fine with up to a 2" lift, though? Just in case I do decide to lift it slightly when I get 31's. -

I don't know what you think you saw, but there was never a Metric Tonne" package for the XJ. it had a D44. That's why I thought it was metric ton.
