No problem. Glad you got helped quick.

Sending units are unfortunately specific to MJs and not in production anywhere. You can modify an XJ unit to fit (not sure exactly what this process entails) but if you need an actual MJ sending unit, your best hope is either a junkyard or someone here on this forum. I think Jim (jimoshel) found a couple recently in a junkyard, I would ask him. Good luck!

Coolant lost due to a failed H.G. can go into the oil and straight into the cylinders, likely both. Coolant in the exhaust has a sweet smell and produces white smoke. Coolant/exhaust in the oil ('milkshake') is one of the classic tests for a failed head gasket or a cracked cylinder head. If the head gasket is bad, it's definitely not worth 700 bucks (I'd offer about 400 if I needed parts off of it) but there's likely plenty of other good parts on it, if you need them or want to sell them. But yeah, if it's losing that much antifreeze and it's not coming out of the engine somewhere or leaving puddles, that's pretty much the only explanation.

Saturns aren't really my style, but they're pretty good little cars. The work you've done is just fantastic and it looks great. Cheers on a good investment!

Crank Position Sensor- What Are Your Tips?
Minuit replied to 89Tonto's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
When we did mine we went through the bottom and it took about 35 minutes. Make sure you keep the wires off the exhaust. Having another pair of hands might be helpful. -
Well... that's an interesting deal about the junkyard. If the bumper's straight it's actually a fairly reasonable (if just a little high) price. I'm not well versed in Waggy parts but I've seen a couple of them for $75-100.

  It's amazing that this stuff is finally getting to see the light of day. The things I would do to have a truck that's that clean.

Another one (hopefully) saved!

Double post!

In my slightly overzealous opinion, as long as there is something holding it together it's worth saving. There are enough Comanches in junkyards already, and I don't think they need any more. If you save it, you'll have a vehicle that is almost completely yours and a good story. Make sure to take pictures! :MJ 2:

Mj 4.0 Gas Mileage Questions.
Minuit replied to Chief Comanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Depending on how and where you drive, these figures may be right. MJs certainly aren't hypermiler vehicles. I do most of my driving in the city and I get about 14 mpg and I have a bit of a lead foot. A tool like Fuelly will help in finding out how your mileage is. Also, I would double check all of the sensors and filters. Things like a dead o2 sensor can kill gas mileage and may or may not be noticeable. P.S. the fuel gauges in our trucks aren't always trustworthy. On mine, 3/4 = full. -
Comanche Of The Month! October 2012!
Minuit replied to Automan2164's topic in Comanche of the Month (MJOTM)
Absolutely stunning work! Both of those trucks are beautiful in every way I can possibly think of. -
Nice! Brand new, I suppose? I've always thought those trucks looked really good in white.

What if you could build a brand new Jeep Comanche?
Minuit replied to beepbeepmyredjeep's topic in The Pub
Since this thread is alive again: - I'd be perfectly fine with it looking the way mine does. Metallic paint! - Extended cab hopefully with usable seats back there. - Something like a stroked 4.0 (24v would be brilliant) but it has to be reliable. A small V8 could be an option. - Please no plastic body components. Flares etc are fine. - I would like a 6 speed but I could live with an automatic. - It should be built on a frame with good strong welds. It should be rust proof to some degree. - 4x4 with dana 44's front and back. - It can't fall apart in 100k miles. It should be built like a tank. Options: - No power windows - Power locks and that's it. Definitely no hydraulic brain assist or whatever the latest thing is. - A center console that doesn't go flying any time I turn. -
Liberty H8'ers Got Their Wish...replacement To Be Called "cherokee"
Minuit replied to Incommando's topic in The Pub
:agree: Saw my first one the other day and it took quite the effort to contain both my laughter and lunch. So long, Jeep. :MJ 2: -
Liberty H8'ers Got Their Wish...replacement To Be Called "cherokee"
Minuit replied to Incommando's topic in The Pub
As much as I hate to say it, I agree. The Jeep brand is ever so (or not?) slowly becoming just another car and this new Cherokee sure isn't helping. I think it's pretty sad to look at the current lineup. The Wrangler is sort of Jeep's last hope and it's about to get overhauled. P.S. what's this warning points thing under my name? -
I think I need to go outside to look at my MJ some more to cheer me up. That 'Liberty' is atrocious. I was almost proud of Jeep for making the current Liberty ever so slightly resemble the XJ (in nothing but looks) but naturally they go ruin it. That Wagoneer is just 'alright' IMO but it would look so much better with the later SJ front end. If it had that, I would almost like it. Unfortunately, all Chrysler is becoming is basically rebadged Fiats so it's sort of a moot point. Browsing Allpar's '2014' section makes me sick the whole way down, in fact. I can't imagine what they're going to do to the Wrangler next generation. I still like the JK pickup, though.

Now that's pretty neat. I wonder what it actually rides like on the highway. :D

Great drawing! Better than anything I could ever hope for. I've thought the CJ-10 looked a little 'special' but in that picture (both your drawing and the actual picture) I think it looks fantastic. Funny what a good picture will do.

:hmm: Not terribly sure what to think of this. I've honestly never seen one before.

:rotf: :clapping: Those horns are absolutely priceless. Don't expect much of a break from hearing those!
