  1. I haven't driven a Cummins, but have researched diesel trucks a LOT (my next truck will be a big, loud diesel) and it's clearly the better choice. My dad has an '01 Powerstroke and while it's a decent truck, I feel the Cummins is still much better. Especially if it's manual. Mid '90s to early '00s are the best, imo. Easy to tune (if you want more power, especially the older ones) and the motor will run forever (and one).
  2. Jeep AND a dub? Your poor wallet! :rotf: Do miss my little dub though
  3. Diamond eye is on the cheap, and seems to be pretty good. We ship it A LOT at work.
  4. I've noticed a few things here and there tied in from other movies. But... wow. Mind blown! I wish I had that much time on my hands. lol
  5. Reminds me of when my mom took my niece to get her ears pierced and had ME stand there and distract her with the teddy bear; while she went and got her a sucker. Needless to say, grandma was the hero and she wouldn't look at me for a month. OT; glad the pooch is doing better.
  6. :rotf:
  7. Lookin' purdy! I second the location of that dif cover.
  8. Just paid $59 to put new tabs on my manche... seems really steep to me. Maybe it was because they're expired? :dunno: What's everyone else paying for their tabs?
  9. That part sure is nice. But she still tries to bring the drama with her, so I'm edging out as peacefully as I can. Sex? What's that? I'm 19. And I'm very aware that I'm responsible for the safety of everyone. Hence, why I told her to sit in the seat with the shoulder harness instead of the lap belt. I didn't figure she'd be dumb enough to not use the shoulder part... it was dark and I couldn't tell. Yes, I was in all ways responsible and feel like $#!& that it happened. EDIT: It's kinda like the feeling you get when you remove a transmission crossmember without snapping any of the bolts. It's kinda like the feeling you get when you remove a transmission crossmember without snapping any of the bolts. Wait...you can remove one WITHOUT breaking bolts??? :rotf: :rotf: :rotf:

  11. Glad we've got it covered that the ex is a bad idea. Didn't figure that one out :rotf:
  12. 1. I'm trying, I'm trying. Hard to turn down amazing sex. :laughin: 2. I could, for the most part. The lighting was just right to hide the bump til we hit it. 3. Guess what my next purchase is gonna be. lol Forgot to add that into the OP 4. I made SOME of it in 2WD, and was TRYING to take it easy and not beat up my DD. Oooops
  13. Went wheeling Saturday at a huge bonfire out in the woods. Long story short, ex-girlfriend wanted me to take her up there to see her friends (yes, EX girlfriend :laughin:). Decided to go wheeling since everybody else was cruising through the trails. She smacked her head twice, once she was unbuckled and I thought she was buckled up- hit the brakes hard trying to avoid the hidden fence post (that I still bumped) and she slid forward and bumped the windshield (okay, I was laughing at that one). Later on, we were still cruising and I didn't see a hole and flew right through and hit pretty hard. She had the shoulder harness behind her so it didn't lock and she bounced up and smacked her head on the roof. Ended up in the ER with a concussion- she didn't remember wheeling, smacking her head, or why I was even with her. So just a reminder to pay close attention to what you're doing and what your passengers are doing. And now for the carnage. No rolls, or anything terrible like that. But, I no longer have a straight body, and that's depressing. That's what you get for going down a hill that you're supposed to go up. Had I gone up, I would've been able to drive on the other wall and been fine. By the time I realized I shouldn't go down, I probably wouldn't have been able to back out. So I went down on 3 wheels around the corner with my bed pressed into the wall the whole way. And that's what you get for trying to go through a deep rivet with a stock longbed on 31s. :rotfl2: Otherwise, my truck did good and I was rather impressed. Made it through a lot of stuff in 2WD, and had no problems with anything when I dropped it into 4.
  14. Welcome back (even though I didn't know ya before you left). Grats on the kid and beating cancer!
  15. Turned out being the turn signal switch. After trial and error (and a whole lot of swearing) took it to an electrical guy I was recommended. 5 minutes and he figured it out. Not one to take my truck to a shop, but having him do it so I don't have to mess with it and I think he deserves the money at this point. EDIT: Thanks all for the input and help. :)
  16. Makes sense the more I think about it. Guess it's off to O'Reilly's again tomorrow. Difficult to install? UPDATE: Checked the power at the connector under the rear bumper (the one that the trailer lights branch off to) and didn't get any power. Had my sister pushing the brake so I could check.
  17. Turn signal switch = brake lights? Odd. Worth a shot.
  18. Is there a breaker too, or just a fuse for these? EDIT: meant to add that into the other comment. whooooops
  19. Checked the ground for the trailer lights as suggested by Tom in the shoutbox. Still nothing.
  20. Yes, blue and pink wires both lit up.
  21. I connected the ground to the metal guide of the 4x4 shifter (I took out the center console so it's open right now). So if I press down the pedal, I should have nothing?
  22. Got a little test light (no clue why I couldn't find ours) and both wires have 12V. :dunno:
  23. I was informed yesterday by my buddy that was following me that I didn't have any brake lights. Check 'em out and sure enough, no brake lights. The run down: I have tail and turns- so bulbs are good. Replaced the fuse for hazards (I was told that was the same one for brakes- doesn't make sense to me :dunno:) and the hazards are ok. Just went and picked up a brake light switch, installed it, and still nothing. So, I'm kind of at a loss right now. Picture of the brake light switch. I took it out, and instantly forgot how it went in when I went back. Looks right to me though. Hopefully y'all have better ideas than chasing wires and grounds.

    Oil Rigs

Out in UT, its 16 hour shifts, 2 weeks on, 2 off, rig hands starting at $28/hr. Seems worth it to me? If you can handle the 16 hour shifts, absolutely! Let's do some math: 7x16= 112 hours 40x28= $1,120 (regular time) 72x42= $3,024 (overtime) =$4,144/WEEK. So, $8,000 before taxes in 2 weeks, and then you have two weeks to blow it. You could build your manche, buy another as trail rig, buy a tow rig and a trailer, and well  EDIT: Excuse me if my math is off. Been a while. Graveyard and living off minimal sleep doesn't help. :rotf: The math is the first thing i did when i got the details...if/when i get up there I'll be on the lookout for a first or second gen Ram250/2500, 4x4 cummins 6spd...for a tow rig and a dd, buy a small trailer, make it into a mobile welding/fab rig, hitch up and go make some more $$ on the off weeks, then buy a bigger trailer, get my mj out there, and build it up! Hell yeah! My ideal truck would be a 1st gen with a 2nd gen 12 valve in it. That's where I'll be headed after school. Hopefully Texas, too. Any idea what the test consists of? I went to welding school my senior year of highschool (2011-2012 school year) I'm pretty sure it's all the pipe tests, that are a pain in the @$$. http://www.spectroweldinstitute.com/images/pipe_welding.jpg
