  1. Let's give it a few days and see who all pops. There are about 5 people here from GA or close by neighboring states. Once we get all peps together in this thread maybe we can find a central location to meet up before Pete leaves the area. A junk yard run would be cool with me too!
  2. What exactly is a 1 year supply of shoes? for me that would be one pair. anyway one pair of free shoes would be nice. Jonathan 12 pair, 1 per month, not my thing but cool if he wins.
  3. Got the # still? Call me when you get here. We may hook up for a GA M&G. That would be cool.
  4. See the link to NAXJA for the info. Basically it is a photo contest and his pic is pretty good. The winner get a 1 year supply of shoes. His pic is doing pretty good too. But, his competitor has people voting 5 for his and putting 1s on everyone eles's pics. Hook the dude up! http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=977088 I get nothing from this, I am just trying to help a Jeeper out.
  5. My wife is a Skins fan. I hate them! I am pulling for them tonight though. I am from a small hick town in PA (Dickerson Run 15430, case ya care.) and I am a huge Steelers fan. I am glad we pulled off the W but the game was ugly. "We" can only hope!
  6. I ran 33's on a 1 3/4" Budget Boost on a 2 door XJ. It just matters how much you want to cut and using the right size bumpstops. It can be done.
  7. If the parts are new and he is installing them than it is a good deal. Let him deal with tear apart the whole front end to install the locker!
  8. Not a good buddy if he is trying to get $850 for $600 in parts!
  9. Should be the same. The beach seat uses the same brackets as the buckets. Just the 2 inner tracks are not attached the the seat.
  10. If the bucket truck had the mini console like the bench truck then they should be the same. If the truck had a full console there will be a cut out for the rear console mount.
  11. How do you make a link to a site with different words? What is mean is, instead of saying, www.summit.com, it would be, I found "this" for you. The word "this" would be the hyperlink? make any sense?

    Should I?

I vote no! You are getting ready to leave for boot soon. The last thing you need laying around is a bunch of projects that will not get finished for at least 4 years. You have no way of knowing when and where the Navy will send you. Keep the MJ for now, once you get a few years under your belt in the Navy you can then decide to get another project truck.
  13. I have my dream job. 16+ years in the Marine Corps. Made the rank of Gunny last year. I have my own shop (Motor T Mech) w/ 7 Marines in my care. I am the OIC/SNCOIC (read: no direct boss) and love every minute of my job! SEMPER FI!
  14. I don't use the XJ or MJ for offroading. I have the WJ for that. I will post more info when he calls me back.
  15. I stopped to look the truck over real quick on my way to work this morning. I can see some small rust blistering between the rear fenders and the bed side, the bed floor is gone (replaced by plywood), the grill is dented, the front fenders are both tweaked a little, and the paint is faded bad. The underside looked pretty clean, just minor surface rust. I could not see the interior for the tinted windows. I did notice the factory wheels have been replace by 15X8 Dog Dish wheels. All in all it is a really nice truck. It has a 318 2BBL as well. I thought it should have had the 360 4BBL too, but they were optional on the Warlock.

    What to do?

A little history on the subject. When I was 7 years old, 1981 time frame. I went with my dad to the Dodge dealer to get his new 81 Ram truck serviced. While we were there a guy pulled up in a 78 Lil' Red Express. I was in awe! About 10 minutes later I see another red step side pick up pull in. It did not have the stacks or chrome wheels. This one had gold wheels? We looked at it as it passed by and it said "Warlock" on the tailgate, SWEET! For a 7 year old kid anything with war in the name has to be cool. Well, fast forward 26 years and here we are. I may have a chance to trade my 89 MJ and 97 XJ for a truck I have wanted since I was 7, I am 33 now. I am going to look at it this week and hope it is a soild truck. The truck spent a few years in MI and IN. I am hoping for the best. Would you trade your 2 Jeeps for a 78 Dodge pick up? The guy wants $2500 for the truck and I have $1600 in the X/MJ combo. Thoughts?
  17. The rest of those Jeeps are running 16-17" max! The 20 look like poop, but that is just my opinion. I do not like the big wheels scene unless they are 17-19" on a old mucle car or truck don tastfully, LIKE THIS! http://rds.yahoo.com/_ylt=A0WTb_osNCtJRaEA70CjzbkF/SIG=122c21bde/EXP=1227654572/**http%3A//www.stjudes.com/images/truck/02BURN.jpg
  18. This is the XJ in question. I got it for cheap ($1200) so I will not be out too much money after I sell off the un-used parts from it, the MJ, and scrap the body. I may have a bunch of parts for sale off the MJ soon. I think I am going to go through with the swap. It will have to wait until the spring though. I may need a 2nd 4X4 for the winter this year. I have a feeling it is going to be a really bad winter here in Georgia. I promise that if I go through with it I will document the whole process and post it in the "Project Onyx" build thread.
  19. Sounds like clutch chatter to me. Does your rear main leak or has it since this clutch disk has been in the truck? If so than you have probably scored the disk, pressure plate, and fly wheel.
  20. I just picked up a pretty nice 97 XJ Country with up country suspension and full skids for a really good price. The XJ is a 4.0, AW4, 231, with a HP30. It runs like a top and only has 117K on it. The fenders are trimmed and it has a BB on it. I need a good reason why not to swap the drivetrain (engine, trans, transfer, and HP30), front doors, front clip, and the wiring over to my 89 MJ. I am having issues in my mind trying to make the 97 wiring work with a 92-96 dash and switches. As I know a RENIX dash just won't work. How much of a headache am I looking at trying to make this work? Am I better off using a HO (92-96) dash cluster and wiring? Or should I just bite the bullet and install the complete 97 wiring, dash, and make the power doors work? Learn me on the different types of X/MJ wiring systems and year breaks, please!
  21. A little bit. But, with the right shocks you can counter the difference. It is better to be soft than super stiff! I have had a couple different mini trucks and a stiff bouncy ride will get old, quick!
  22. Truck is looking good! TJ coils should drop the front about an inch.
  23. I know man! I miss the SoCal crew as well! Tell the boys and girls I said "hello"!
  24. 97+ doors are without the wind wings. They can be put on a MJ but you need the 97+ door catch as well. Johnnyc did it to his, http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=9980
  25. I tow a 4300# pop up (Starcraft 13 RT) with my WJ. It does well. The wagon has the 4.7 non HO motor. I get between 11-15 towing. I use the WJ to tow everything, it is my truck. I suggest you you look into a V8 4X4 WJ. They are dirt cheap right now too.
